Obelix Hills is one of the most popular and photogenic spots in Yogyakarta, offering spectacular panoramic views from the top of a hill. It’s the perfect destination for relaxing, taking stunning photos, and enjoying the sunset in a modern, scenic environment.
Access & Shuttle Service: It's important to note that the road to Obelix Hills is narrow and steep, which makes it unsuitable for large vehicles like buses or big vans. Thankfully, the management provides a well-organized shuttle service from the lower parking area. The shuttle buses are clean, free, and operate on a regular schedule. Staff at the shuttle station are helpful and guide visitors clearly, making the experience smooth and stress-free.
Scenery & Photo Spots: Once you arrive at the main area, you'll be greeted with an incredible 180-degree view of the hills, forests, and the city of Yogyakarta from above. There are many creatively designed photo spots, such as the Sky Deck, The Edge, Love Box, and more. Each area is safe, well-maintained, and perfect for Instagram-worthy photos — especially during golden hour.
Facilities: Obelix Hills is equipped with modern and clean facilities. You'll find indoor and outdoor seating, a stylish café with a good variety of drinks and meals, clean toilets, a prayer room (mushola), and even a small playground for children. There are bean bags, hammocks, and lounge areas where visitors can just sit back and enjoy the view with a drink in hand.
Best Time to Visit: The best time to come is late afternoon so you can catch the sunset and stay into the evening when the city lights begin to sparkle below. The night atmosphere is magical — with warm lighting and cooler air, it’s incredibly romantic and peaceful.
Tickets & Pricing: The entrance fee is very affordable, and there are online and on-the-spot options. Food and beverages inside are reasonably priced for a tourist attraction, and there are also bundle packages available for families or groups.
Final Thoughts: Obelix Hills is the kind of place that blends natural beauty, modern comfort, and artistic design — a rare find in tourist destinations. Whether you’re traveling with family, friends, a partner, or even solo, this place offers a serene and memorable escape above the city. Bring your camera, wear something nice, and get ready to capture some of your best travel...
Read moreVisiting Obelix Hills was a lovely experience. If you're coming from Yogyakarta city, I recommend taking the route via Tebing Breksi and Candi Ijo. It's more convenient and scenic. You can set your map to Tebing Breksi first, then continue to Obelix Hills — it works really well.
One thing I really appreciated was the clean toilet facilities. It's rare to find such well-maintained restrooms at tourist spots, so this was a pleasant surprise.
The sendratari (traditional dance-drama) performance was also a highlight. It’s free and changes regularly, so each visit offers something new. A wonderful way to enjoy local culture.
Food is provided by Pulen Kopi Ponti. It’s simple, traditional Indonesian home-style cooking — nothing fancy, but comforting and familiar.
For those who enjoy nature, camping is also available! The package includes a tent, blanket, bed, dinner, BBQ, and breakfast — a complete and fun outdoor experience.
Parking is another plus — it’s very spacious and secure.
Overall, Obelix Hills offers a nice mix of nature, culture, and comfort. Thank you, Obelix Hills team — keep up...
Pembayaran tiket masuk terbagi 2. Di awal kedatangan, kita membayar tiket kendaraan saja, 5 rb (per mobil) *motor ga merhatiin brp. Coba liat review yg lain
Setelah parkir, kita berjalan kaki ke gerbang utama. Dari sini baru kita membeli tiket masuk per org. 25rb hr biasa, 30rb weekend / libur besar
Kalau Anda menanti sunset, sebaliknya bawa jaket, karena angin cukup kencang. Btw, jika kurang beruntung, Anda tidak dpt melihat sunset dgn sempurna, krn tertutup awan.
Banyak spot bagus utk diabadikan.
