During my trip to Oaxaca, Mexico, I discovered the remarkable Arbol De Tule. This ancient tree stands at an impressive height of 42 meters and has a mind-boggling diameter of 94 meters. Can you believe it? And the most awe-inspiring part is that it's over 2000 years old! However, touching or climbing the tree is not allowed, but just being in its presence is a humbling experience.
In Bayan, Indonesia, I also encountered the magnificent Kayu Putih tree. Though it's not as old as the Arbol De Tule, being around 700+ years old is still quite remarkable. The tree stands tall at 70 meters and has a diameter of 60 meters. The best part is that you are actually allowed to climb the roots of this tree! When I visited, the lady at the entrance booth was kind enough to take some amazing photos of me. While there is no entrance fee to visit the tree, it would be great if you could leave a donation to support its preservation.
If you're a true tree lover seeking a serene and peaceful environment, I highly recommend making the trip to Kayu Putih. It was a truly special experience to witness and even touch this giant tree. It radiated a sense of calm and warmth that was truly soothing. Plus, there's a nearby rice field where you can capture even more stunning photos of the tree. I ended up spending about 45 minutes there, just soaking in the beauty.
So, if you happen to be in the area, I strongly encourage you to stop by and pay a visit to this incredible tree. You won't be...

The location is easily accessible via main roads. There's a small parking area available for a minor fee. The tree is said to be around 700 years old, probably older than anything else currently on the island. It's a unique species native to this area. Trust me, it’s much bigger than it looks in the photos. I had a hard time fitting it all into the frame! If you're planning to visit Jatiluwih Rice Terraces or Leke Leke Waterfall, be sure to add this spot to your list.
