Really enjoyed climbing this mountain

A great mix of challenging and beautiful views as you ascend up the mountain.

We climbed it in one day without camping and took roughly 9hrs total but we had a few stops for food breaks and chilling enjoying the view.

The thing I hated about Merbabu was the red tape associated with climbing it and how incompetent the staff were there.

You have to pay (as always in Indonesia) but must register with your passport. We also couldn’t do the paying part ourselves and our accommodation host had to pay with a local bank. It would not accept foreign bank cards and you can’t pay by cash.

There is a minimum of 3 people (with no guide) in a group required which we had but might be an issue for others. You generally don’t need a guide the route is well marked and easy to follow.

The whole process took nearly 2 hrs and almost dissuaded us from climbing it as we were fed up - bear in mind we also tried to climb at 5am and were told no entry during dark due to other accidents so were already annoyed.

The mountain climb did make up for it with the challenge and views but the Indonesia tourism regime for climbing this mountain needs fundamental change to be easy and...

Pertama, emang ini pertama kali naik ke gunung satu ini, nyari² rute² yg agak² ilegal tetep gk ketemu, alhasil harus sedikit main trik baru boleh naek.

Kenapa kok ilegal bg ?

Yaaa, karena kan Solo Hiking, di BC manapun meski bukan jalue resmi pasti gk dibolehin, kata mereka "Gn. 3.000'an mdpl gk boleh Solo... bla.. blaa..blaaa", alasannya agak burik tpi ada Reason lah, khawatir kalo kita kenapa² entar (tapi ego gwe terhina disini.

Jadinya Ngalah deh, cari joinan yg Regis berpasangan 2 orang, cwek-cwok, cwek-cwok, cwok², gw sendiri (nyamuk anjir, ini fix dah bner gw nge Solo Hiking)

Jadi, berangkat jam 01.00 kurang, nyampe Pos 1 hampir jam 01.00, temen² yg brangkat bareng² udh gas duluan, kalo gw..

Nah, setelah beberapa menit agak lama gw selesai dg urusan negara dan bebersih diri SEBERSIH mungkin, baru dah berangkat.

Oh iya, gw GK BAWA senter guys, dan lupa record yg waktu di Pos 1, nanti gambar gw juga bakal kurang jelas karena GUELAPP kalo direkam pake HP gw, maaf kamera Burik.

Oke, Jam 01.00 (diaratain segitu aj) gw berangkat meski ada kendala Jam 01.22 nyampe di Pos 2 Jam 01.55 nyampe Shelter bangunan ijo Segitiga Jam 03.08 nyampe Pos 5/ Sabana 2 Jam 03.40 nyampe di tempat dataran yg ada papan penuh stiker didalamnya asa "Mafia Rimba" sama ada baru yg dibarikade melingkar sama rantai *Jam 04.51 nyampe puncak Triagulansi DONE

Udah gitu aj dah nyampe

Lalu.. Jam 06.18 mulai turun Jam 06.58 nyampe Pos 4 Jam 07.23 nyampe Shelter Segitiga ijo, disini trpaksa duduk dulu, sepatu gw udah kyak bak pasir truk, gw keluarin dulu semua pasir yg masuk di sepatu baru lanjut Jam 07.50 nyampe Pos 2 Jam 08.13 nyampe Pos 1

Di sini perjalnan kita udah Cleae, Perfect, titik Start dan Finish kita di Pos 1, ya kali di itung pertngahan smentara jarak mentok ojek di Pos 1, kan nge ganjel bre, makanya di hitung dari titik maksimal mereka mau nganter, yaitu POS 1.

Nah, itu Naik 3 jam 51 Menit, enaknya buletin aj 4 Jam aja deh Turunnya 1 Jam 55 Menit, buletin aj 2 Jam deh, Disela itu pas di atas gw istirahat di tengah waktu itu, sekitar 1 jam.

Itu gw udh ngalah buat buletin waktunya, jadi perhatiin baik² kalo mau Tektok,

Total estimasi "7 Jam" perjalanan dari Pos 1 ke Puncak dan dari Puncak ke Pos 1.

Gw saranin sih siapin sarung tangan super tebel dan hangat, cuz i am is feeezing up there, tapi asalkan tubuh utamanya punggung dan dada suhunya masih terjaga maka akan baik² saja, kuatkan tekad.
