The perfect place for cavetubing in Yogyakarta. Around 50km from Yogya downtown, you can ask your local friends or the hotel for the transportation to go there if you dont bring your own car. The cave is not so exposed yet so not too many visitors yet. The guides are really experienced though young, and funny. They are always ready to help, even take photographs for us with fun style, in the caves during tubing journey! The place is still very natural, cave's stalactices are very beautiful. The price is really reasonable and worth it, too : Rp.70.000 per person, for a group with minimum 5 persons in. Opening hours; 8 AM to 4 PM under good weather. Equipments are safe and well-maintained. Bathrooms are clean and also well-maintained. Lockers are available. There's a place that sells additional equipment with good price i.e. sandals, waterproof covers for cellphones and cameras, casual dress (in case you dont bring changes). I recommend that you prepare strong mountain sandals with safety straps so that you can safely use them while tubing. Slip-ons without straps can be slippery on the rocks and lost easily in the river streams so you will be advised to leave them on the rocks. This way, I'm worried that our feet will be hurt from rocks. So better to use good quality safety sandals. For convenience, Better to use swimming clothes or tight clothes too in the water. The experience is so awesome and safe! With extra Rp 200.000 you can go to the paradise light place where it is more beautiful and challenging, far at the top (ask the guide for this option). Pregnant women and those with heart sickness are not advised to go. Even for not adventurous people, this tubing experience is still fun & worth...
Read moreWent here with my mate from the UK, had a great time (wear good fitting shoes good enough for water) . Started off getting a float jacket, elbow and knee pads and helmets fitted then off for a 5 minute walk down some stairs to the entrance to the waters edge, can choose to jump in off a 3 meter edge or walk down some stairs and slowly get in (preferred jumping in, more fun). Once in and comfy with the cool water it's a little flat down to the start of the cave, where you climb over some rocks and get into a floating ring....get pushed through the cave by some safety guides and then out into the open again after 5 minutes or so(some big bat's in there to be seen too) and then out into the open again for a little while, into another cave bit for a few mins and then it's another 2 or 3 minute floating about in ring until you get to the exit, this involves steps..... Of which there are plenty, they are very steep and so is the incline too, be warned these are steep and hard work to walk up (if you're unfit like myself). At the end there is a drink of water and a truck ride back to the entrance. Once showered and changed, you can have free noodles and a tea..... Very refreshing after and exhausting walk up the stairs. All in...
Read moreit was a great experience and you also get to see many cool things like bats! As you sit in the tube, your guide will tell information about the cave like how old it is and you also get to see stalactites and stalagmites! However, there's a reason I gave 4 stars. As it rained the day before I went , the route that I was required to walk on was muddy. My slippers were constantly stuck in it. Overall, the experience was great though, I got to have a "bath" under the waterfall ( you basically get drenched from head to toe) and the truck ride there was really fun, I stood through the whole ride and felt the cool breeze on my face. The guides are great too, they take photos for you! The whole thing was around 2 hours. from what I saw, The price was 170.000rp for foreigners and 130.000 for local. Hope this...
