Baluran National Park is a hidden gem in East Java, Indonesia. This vast protected area offers a diverse range of natural landscapes, including savannahs, forests, and pristine beaches. The park is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, making it a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts. The park's entrance fee is very reasonable, and visitors can opt to go on a jeep safari or take a trekking adventure to explore the park's hidden trails. However, it is important to note that the park's infrastructure is quite basic, so visitors should come prepared with plenty of water and snacks.

One of the highlights of Baluran National Park is its wildlife. Visitors can spot a range of exotic animals, including bantengs (wild cattle), Javan leopards, deer, and various species of primates. The park is also home to a diverse range of birdlife, making it a birdwatcher's paradise. In addition, visitors can also take a dip in the park's clear blue waters and enjoy the white sandy beaches. The beach areas are quite secluded, providing visitors with a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere to unwind and enjoy the natural surroundings.

The park is also home to several hiking trails, providing visitors with an opportunity to explore the park's hidden gems. The trails vary in difficulty, from easy walks to more challenging treks. However, all of them offer stunning views of the surrounding landscapes, including the park's vast savannahs and forests. Overall, Baluran National Park is a great destination for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse themselves in the natural beauty...

If you love outdoor adventure and nature, you going to love this place.

We arrive exactly when this place just open 7:30 am, and it was Monday. So we are so grateful because we are the 1st visitor and we can stop to many spot without too many people around. Such a blessings.

We need to drive 12 km to first stop, basically this is the famous savanna, if you google about Baluran National Park, you’ll more thank likely will find this pic.

Like everyone said, first impression, it’s not look like INDONESIA. Feels like you are in Africa (based on that movie and National Geographic) you can stop by here and take pic, then you can continue another 7 km to the last stop.

We’re surprised because it’s beach. Quite and seclude, again probably because it’s Monday and still very early.

On the other side of the beach you can take a short walk to explore mangrove area, another spot for good picture.

During the trip we flock, Buffalo, and monkey, a troops of monkey. And highly recommend not to bring anything that attract monkey attention, we saw the troops snatch a bag full of snack from visitor, when they left the bag on their bag to taking picture.

There’s observation tower as well but we decide not to climb up and enjoy the scenery with explore...

This place is so amazing, truly the Africa of Java. We saw different species of monkeys, buffalos, deers, peacocks, birds. It's really really hot and dry in here so be sure to bring plenty of water. We stayed there for the whole day and it was so worth it. We saw the monkeys all day long, the buffalos too. The deers came along on the afternoon. Around 4:30pm, the animals move around and cross the road to get back to their place before sunset. The nature and vegetation and scenery is fantastic, so beautiful, almost unreal. The price is a little higher than indicated: the entrance fee is now 160k per person (like 10k if you come with a motorcycle). I guess it may be because they totally sealed the road now. It is now a really good and neat and smooth road the whole way long to the beach, so no worries with riding a motorcycle here. The beach is also really nice, some boats, plenty of monkeys on the shore. We had lunch there: there is a small, cheap and really yummy warung. There's also another one halfway between the entrance of the park and the beach (in Bekol). And there's also a charming shott mangrove walk by the beach! We really recommend to come here if you're nearby. It is pretty pricy but you won't regret it!
