Sahara Jetty — Attraction in Sorong

We had a fabulous time here! The owner welcomed us and gave us bread to feed the fish off the jetty. Everyone else picnicking was so friendly. We asked about having lunch and tho the owner said you typically have to order a day in advance, he would ask the neighbors if they could cook us up some fresh fish. We went for a walk around the island, and an hour later we came back to a feast of grilled fish, squid, water spinach and rice. They had an assortment of cold refreshing drinks too. We went crossing Sorong harbour to Doom Island and strolled about 20 minutes with becak. We sopped at Sahara Jetty to enjoy the sunset and snack of fried banana and fried bread fruit. The view of sunset cannot be seen because of the wood fence. The trash in the water were floating around. Though the water is clear and the sand can bee seen white and clean. Pengalaman pertama kali saya kesini cukup mengesankan, saya kesini di hari libur lebaran Idul Fitri. Banyak sekali pengunjung yang datang kesini untuk refreshing dan berenang. Saran saya jika ingin berenang dengan nyaman, kesana pas hari weekdays atau bukan hari libur cuti bersama. Untuk taksi laut/perahu biayanya Rp 5.000. Bayar masuk Cafenya Rp 10.000/orang. Dari pelabuhan Doom kalian hanya perlu berjalan kaki karena tidak terlalu jauh. Jika ingin naik becak juga bisa harganya Rp 10.000.
