A very beautiful lagoon.. definetely one of the highlight of visiting Sumba Island.. the atmosphere was very serene, it was very enjoyable. Upon arriving, u need to walk about 2-3 minutes to the lagoon from the parking lot. There were some vendors selling local souvenirals along the way. Once you arrived at the lagoon, a bunch of local kids will flock around you trying to do few things for your money. They will offer to take ur pictures, offer you some fresh coconuts or grilled uni (sea urchins), selling you stuffs, etc. And they will not stop following you till you leave the lagoon, if you say no, they arent very insistive, but they will still following you and talk to you. It depends on your perspective, for some people it could be annoying, for some others it might be cute. They are generally not dangerous and actually very friendly and smiley. I decided to buy a fresh coconut from the kids and the price was actually very reasonable IDR10.000 (USD0.67). The water is clear, the sand soft, and the shade trees grow naturally around the lagoon, adding to the beauty of this place. Visitors can swim and snorkel comfortably in this lagoon. Toilet facilities are available for changing, but their cleanliness and tidiness still need to be improved. There are stalls selling drinks, from fresh young coconut water to cold beer. Snacks and cup noodles are available. Souvenir vendors are also available. Several children offer to escort visitors and take photos, for a fee of whatever they like. If you feel disturbed or don't want to use their services, you can politely say No. They are sweet children, trying to earn extra pocket money or, due to their family's financial situation, they must work to help their parents. It's not about how much money you spend, but about how warm your heart.
I love Sumba Greetings from a visitor...

Therefore, the entrance ticket is so cheap, it's only Rp 2,000 per pax, with Rp 5,000 parking fee for both motorbike and car. However, be mindful when choosing to use any services provided by locals there. We rode a bamboo raft offered by an old man. He said it was Rp 20,000. Then four of us hopped on and enjoy the crystal clear underwater view. But then when we finished, he charged us Rp 20,000 per each person. It's ridiculous as the other raft was only with one person and charged Rp 20,000. So, no matter how many people on the raft, charging will be per person. There's a restroom available but poorly maintained and using it will charge...
