Curug Penganten — Attraction in West Java

Went here in October 2020. The place itself is a a 1-hour drive from Dago Atas, Bandung, and fortunately follows a widely used road for the most part. You would need to then enter a residential area and navigate through to the end until you reach an abandoned inn, which would be your parking space.

You would then need to go on foot for around half-an-hour. At this point, you would need to look around or ask locals a lot more since they do not have pointers toward the waterfall. The path down is steep and appears rarely used. Unfortunately we visited during the rainy season which also makes it very slippery and muddy, so if you decide to visit around this time be sure to use firm shoes if you’re not used to these conditions.

You will be able to start hearing the gushing water around 5-10 minutes before you can touch water. Once you arrive on the site, you will get a chance to wash the mud off in the stream, which at that time is a bit dirty due to the rainy season. The sound of water hitting the rocks below provides a calming and therapeutic scene for someone looking to escape the city life for a bit.

During the hike up you will need to prepare your thighs and calves if you are not used to steep hikes. At least if you stop to rest a lot, you will be able to enjoy the mountainous...

It was quite a muddy hike down to the base of the waterfall. A slippery path down through the jungle with no handrails and no steps in some places. Quite an adventure if you're the jungle type.
