Breathtaking, was what I thought the first time I was here. This place had one of the finest sceneries I have ever seen. It was about a month ago when I decided to visit this place. I was searching through the internet about a place that could offer relaxation and a beautiful sighting, and this place comes first. I was very excited to pay a visit after I saw a couple pictures that show how wonderful it was. Shortly after that, I decided to go there on my bike.
It was Sunday morning, and the sky was a bit cloudy when I ventured there. The traffic from Dago was usually smooth and not very condensed, even at weekends, except at the t-junction near The Maj Collection’s appartement. The journey took about an hour, but it was worth it because I was served with an eye-pleasing view of Bandung’s tea plantation on my right and left.
I arrived at the main gate at around 11 a.m. Then I paid the fee for entering the place, which is Rp.11000 for locals. From there, I trudged through a small pathway which eventually takes me to my destination. This place was surrounded by a wooden fence, and beyond that was a rocky gorge and a high hill standing firmly in all directions. In that place, I saw a vast area of forest that was stretched from side to side and a tea plantation on top of the hills. At that time, there was a thin layer of clouds beneath me, which makes me feels as if I was standing in the sky. All in all, the experience was very relaxing. This place was very recommended for people who want to escape the pandemonium of the...
Read moreYou have to be prepared to come here. The road is rocky and not always smooth. If you come here with a car you have to park far away from the entrance. The local says it's around 3km but I believe it is less than that. There are also ojek that cost 50.000 for round trip and 30.000 for only going up. If you're not in a rush and have a good stamina, you can get up there with a walk. But beware that the road is very rocky and it can be very tiring. Is you have a motorcycle, be very careful because the motorcycle parking lot is behind the entrance. Once you are up at the entrance you have to pay 12.000 for locals and 52.000 for foreigners, it's all include insurance. You can wear sandals if you only want to see the view. But if you want to go around and see the camping ground, the road is a bit slippery. There is also a toilet and mushola at the camping ground. When you arrive at the tourist place it has breathtaking view and you will be mesmerized by how beautiful it is. But please don't go down to the rocks by passing the fence. It is dangerous and I feel it is hard to get back because it is fence all around. I guess it is my opinion and up to you if you want to dare yourself by taking more beautiful photos when you pass over the fence. But overall the view is amazing and will recommend this...
Read moreTebing Keraton ("The Royal (Palace) Cliff") is a view point sitting above Lembang Fault (Sesar Lembang), that is estimated to extend east to west 29km in length and is still currently active (movement of up to 3.45mm/year) and thought of possible generating a 6.5-7 earthquake magnitude.
Coming by car, one need to park in a car parking area near Warung Bandrek (4.1km from Jl. H. Djuanda/Dago, or 3.3 km from Taman Hutan Raya entrance), before continuing the journey using ojek (motorcycle). If you ride your own bike/motorcycle you can continue all the way up to the entrance gate. A 6-min motorcycle ride costs 30K IDR one way or 50K return.
Ticket fee for Indonesian was 12K (foreigner IDR52K) but this includes insurance and access to Taman Hutan Raya Djuanda (for forests, waterfall and bunkers).
From the entrance gate, one needs to walk around 3-5 mins to an observation platform that provides commanding view toward Lembang, a bit of Bandung, and fault formations.
A visit early in the morning is recommended as low flying clouds and fog can still be seen which adds to already dramatic scenery.
Staffs were excellent in...
