Be aware of ticket and guide SCAM!

After arriving, a man came to us to tell us that we need to pay the entry fee and separate a guide, which is mandatory to enter. We didn’t read the reviews before, so we believed him.

We paid the entry fee, which was 30k per person. Later we have noticed that the tickets were from 2014, maybe it’s a scam that local people do to earn a few extra money. I understood that ghe entry must cost 15k per person (August 2024).

We started the walk with the man who came to us when we arrived aka the guide. The track to the waterfall is super easy, you just need to follow the path. It takes around 15-20 minutes. The guide didn’t knew English very well, so he didn’t talked that much.

We were lucky to spot the black monkeys just 5 minutes after entering the forest. The waterfall was beautiful and I think it’s worth visiting this place, but without a guide.

At the end, our guide said that we need to pay him now. Not a problem, we were willing to give him something for the time spent with us and also to support the local community. We give him 50k and he started to fight with us, that the price is 150k. He didn’t mentioned anything at the beginning of the track, but now he became very rude and angry. I gave him 100k in total just to leave us to go. It’s a pity how some locals take advantage of the tourists and scam them. You feel very unsafe when this things happen.

So pity for the place, it has great potential but some locals are...

Arrived and immediately a guy came up to us telling us that we needed to pay 160k each for a guide and was persistent. We weren't willing to do that so left. Have now checked reviews and can see it is a scam. Lots of locals gathered at the entrance looking on including the ticket office.

If you try and scam tourists you will end up with no one visiting and the local economy will lose money. START REGULATING IT!

I think we should pay an entrance fee but the current approach by locals is...

Two sided experience: Nice waterfall. It takes a fairly easy 20 minute track to get there, which you really don't need a guide for! Unfortunately, you are pushed to take one by the locals (for which you should really not pay more for than 100k per group, because entrance fee is already 30k per person and parking 10k per bike) and are treated unfriendly if you want to go by yourself. They gang up on you as soon as you get there. If you do pay for a guide they are...

Easy 20 minute trek, wouldn’t recommend if it has rained the days before because then the steps would be very slippery. They charge 30k fee of entrance but are not capable to clean or maintain the place. Very disappointing. Maybe you can offer people to bring a bag full of trash from the waterfall and they can go in for free. Would be happy to do that.

In my opinion, actually the waterfall is not a perfectly good waterfall, the track towards the waterfall is very beautiful instead, through a very green beautiful jungle and if you are lucky you can see black langurs (Trachypitecus auratus) at the trees. Too bad, i still encountered a few plastics waste thrown by visitors.
