The place is in east Lombok, close to ferry port to Sumbawa. From Mataram it is around 2 hours drive. I often mix the trip with trip to Gili Kondo lately. I have seen the trees since I was little becaus we often passed the place when we went to Sambelia visiting my great grandma's sister.

In the last three years the place has become popular among locals and visitors because it is so rare especially we will not be able to see them in Lombok outside this area. Before 3 years ago the area was not fenced and some of the giant tress grow just by the road separated from the rest which are like in a one location. The one by the road had died maybe because they were too old and the hole inside has 'bacteria' which rotten them.

Maybe the Dutch brought them here at the colonial time. I remember asking my great grandma about them, she said they had been there since she was very young. Last time I came the care taker has put information about the age. They are 350 years old. I thought they are similar to the one in Adelaide Botanical Garden because they seem to have the same roots that crawl on the ground surface. However, when I checked the leaves they look diffrent. The one here feel and look tinner than the one in Adelaide.

The area is quite big, we park not far from trees..There are sellers in small huts selling drinks, young coconut and rice wrapped in banana leaves. Some berugag/ Lombok kind of gazebo if you like to rest and sit. You can even laydown there. It has simple toilet. Parking for car is 10K. No entrance fee for visitors. I hope you enjoy the time here as...

This is another popular spot in east lombok besides Kondo Island. Near Kayangan port you can stop by here when you in this area. You can just parked at Pidana beach. They said the trees was about 300 years old and you can't find it in another places on Indonesia because it's endemic tree came from australian continent.

Well maybe not much you can do here except sit and enjoy the surrounding. The area also not too big. But the giant tree was cool. You can take a cool picture with giant tree background. It's will be nice if they expand the area more and give more...

These humongous trees are more than 300 years old and it's located near Gili Kondo. It's the thickest and longest looking tree trunks I ever seen in my entire life of living. I heard from the villagers saying, if the trees were to collapse, it'll only be at a specific timing which is around 12mn-2am if I remembered correctly. Nothing much is there other than the food/drink stall and some huts/benches for you to relax and enjoy the view of the trees.
