Great Museum of Khorasan — Attraction in Mashhad

The Great Museum of Khorasan is beautifully designed and really well-organized. It covers everything from ancient history to Islamic art and culture, with some incredible artifacts and detailed explanations (many signs have English too, which is a plus for tourists).

The building itself is modern and spacious, with great lighting and a calm atmosphere. You can easily spend 1–2 hours here exploring different sections. It’s also located near Koohsangi Park, so you can combine both in one trip.

The only thing great about this museum is the building. The collections are very limited and very little organised. Some of the items have explanations in Persian and some are bilingual with English as well. Among these items, some information, like dates, are only transliterated instead of converting to Gregorian calendar. It seems like the curator of the museum is not very well informed about such matters. You can expect to spend about an hour here. The coffee shop on the 7th floor is great with awesome views of the city. The shop on the ground floor is also worth a visit and the stones collection...

This museum is located by the historical Mountain of Mashhad, Koohsangi ( rock mou tain). There are different flats that belongs to differnt historical times. It starts from prehistoric tk the recent times. This meusuem is among a histirical and beautiful park and restuarant that belong to the Pahlavi era.
