This review is more of a heads up than a review because I never actually reached my destination...
I was staying locally and it was a sunny Sunday evening so thought I would take a walk from my b&b to the heritage site. The area is very remote but there are plenty of houses and this time of the year plenty of farming traffic. I was walking along and there was no other people on the road I had to look up and down the way to see if cars were coming so I knew for sure no people around. I noticed a short base older land cruiser passed me a few times but being harvest season thought it was a farmer on their rounds. I stopped off to say hello to a friendly horse on the side of the road and at that time I was still alone on the road. As I made my way to the site , next thing I heard a commotion as a vehicle blasted warning signs on their horn. I looked behind me and a man was walking behind me, he had came out of nowhere. He was not dressed for a walk and looked 'plain' in a white teeshirt and blue jeans and white runners. The vehicle that blasted the horn whizzed passed me and gave me a friendly smile and wave as she passed. My gut instinct lead me to 'know' something wasn't quiet right here. I stopped in my tracks and made sure that I was visible to a nearby house as I called my friend on the phone. The man had a very charming smile and said hello to me with a Dublin accent as he passed. In the meantime time the earlier short base land cruiser drove by again. As the man walked around the corner I could hear that vehicle stop and a conversation ensued ( couldn't hear the words) and I thought to myself forget about the heritage park and get back safe. I drove that way the next day and right around that bend was 'nothing' no houses compared to the earlier part of the walk. Very easy to be surprised from behind and bundled into a van. I sent so much love and light to that lady who beeped and drove crazily to get my attention and forevermore will hold her dear to my heart 💚 lady walkers...
Read moreA lovely moderate walk well with in most peoples capabilities the only steep parts are when walking on the public road. I was a little confused as to what direction to take for the 6k walk but I got there in the end. But the start point at the mass rock is a very nice start point with fantastic views...
