Balbriggan Beach offers a wonderfully accessible and multifaceted coastal experience, proving that you don't need to travel to the furthest corners of Ireland to find a refreshing escape. It's a place of two distinct but beautifully connected halves.

The beach itself is a lovely, wide stretch of sand, perfect for a traditional seaside stroll, breathing in the fresh, salty air. Its close connection to the town is a major plus, meaning you're never far from a warm cup of coffee or a bite to eat after your walk. This layer of comfort and convenience makes it an effortless destination for a quick, restorative break from the everyday.

But the real treasure here, for me, is the coastal path that begins from the beach area. The user-rated 'medium' difficulty is spot on. The trail offers just enough challenge with its gentle inclines and varied terrain to make you feel like you've had a proper, invigorating walk, but it remains perfectly manageable. As you move along the path, the views open up beautifully, offering panoramic seascapes that are especially atmospheric on a classic cloudy, moody Irish day. This walk is what elevates the location from a simple beach to a genuinely rewarding outdoor activity.

Balbriggan provides a fantastic combination: the simple pleasures of a town beach with the soul-stirring reward of a proper coastal hike. It is an ideal spot for anyone looking to stretch their legs, clear their head, and enjoy the rugged beauty of the coast without venturing too far from...

Nice beach but could be bigger it wouldnt be like the beach from home and away now lol. Benches are painted but needs a repaint. Pretty lighthouse. Footpath is lethal unfortunately very narrow and everyone on bicycles insists in speeding on it so cant really enjoy a walk there. Illegal dumping is a problem can be seen under the bridge at the harbour and empty bottles at the beach from a nights drinking anti social behaviour. Harbour is lovely but some boats are like rustbuckets at this stage. Some lovely fresh fish for 10 euro can be purchased there and the community have done nice artwork on the containers. I love looking at the seagulls and taking photographs. Fishermen are...

Lovely beach, but will not be setting foot here again. Was hoping to have a lovely time with my husband and toddler after reading the reviews. Instead we had a terrible experience with a certain group of beach goers who definitely did not like that we were “foreigners.” We were thrown buckets of sand by their kids, racial slurs thrown at us. When we told them off, their parents told them that they could do anything they wanted. We simply moved away, and a few moments later, that same group were fighting against each other and the guards had to be called. Neighbourhood isn’t warm and friendly, and we have learned that the hard way. Never ever coming back to this rough...

Nice beach. A good community . There are plenty of people (volunteers) who are doing a great job in keeping the place clean and tidy. They could do with some more government support / funding. The painting of the benches / walls is a great project. Additional planting of flowers is also a nice touch. Unfortunately their work is being undermined by people with no respect for the environment (rubbish, anti-social behaviour). The volley ball nets on the beach are a nice addition. Also worth noting: great job to whomever decided to put the "dams" along the bracken river, which stops some rubbish entering the sea. Pictured is our rubbish haul, collected along the main beach.
