Many thanks to Sean and the team in the Patrick Kavanagh Centre for a truly interesting experience on our recent visit to Inniskeen. Our poetry group "At Home with Poetry" travelled to Monaghan from Dublin recently and it was well rewarded by first of all the welcome we received from the Centre staff themselves and then the wealth of knowledge that was imparted to us by the Centre Administrator, Sean, who is clearly an ardent and eloquent admirer of Kavanagh. The Centre is a wonderful tribute to Patrick Kavanagh and anyone passing through the area should not miss the opportunity to have a truly immersive experience of the poet's creativity and genius. The graveyard and all the lore surrounding it is not to be missed. We left having a deeper appreciation of not alone Kavanagh's poetry but the countryside that grew and formed him and which he loved.
