This is a multifunctional public park with a lot of ameanities and there is something for everyone. It is an ideal location to grab coffee or tea and have some lunch on the picnic benches and enjoy the lovely views of the river Lee! There are a number of beautiful walks and trails which are flagged and signposted, ranging from a short 1km loop around the sports fields to a longer 7km trail following the river, sports fields and the Gunpowder Site. Ideal for running and walking along! The facilities in the park also include a number of full size football pitches, GAA pitch, basketball courts, full playground, outdoor gym and a nice skate board area for kids! Near the main entrance carpark by the river there is a little free library whoch is a great idea. Its a great honesty library and has a range of books for adults as well as kids! The old Gunpowder site is also located here and there is a load of history to look up! It is definitely a great...

What a fantastic place to go to unwind or bring the kids to play and enjoy themselves. For the little trill seekers there is a skate park just beyond the car park. Then as you delve further there is basketball courts, great playground consisting of climbing zones, swings, slides, zip wires etc. Then there is a huge plain of playing fields surrounded by a pathway intersecting the fields ideal for running, walks or bike or rollerblading. To the left of the main path exercising equipment is in place for the health minded. Latest addition a fairy trail which further sets off a great location for all the family to enjoy. Two catering vans in the car park to fill those hungry tummies from all the activities, drinks, crepes, snacks and ice cream. Carpark does get quiet busy although a large amount of parking on site is available. Recommendations to go early on weekends to avoid hastle of...

What a beautiful park. It has beautiful walks by the river and rounds a track with trees. Big fields or pitches to play ball games. A strand for throwing stones, a fab fairy trail and a state of the art children's playground. At the weekends and bank holidays there is a coffee and cake van which serves great cork coffee roasters coffee and homemade cakes and there is a crêpe van too. There are lots of picnic areas if you'd prefer to bring your own and plenty to fill a few hours for kids. The only down side for me is that there is a sign for a public toilet but I have yet to find it, it's miles away! Very inconvenient with a small child who tells you at the last second! My advice would be to make sure you go just before you leave home or stop in to SuperValu up there road just before you go...

Massive park one of my favourites. Has miles of winding pathways through the rivers and trees and covers the whole length of ballincollig. I was able to run a 7km loop on perfect pathways. There are large open spaces to play games on and a really super new playground. There are also basketball courts. Its very dog friendly and lots of bins throughout. During the summer there are loads of wildflowers around the edges of the park. The main car park can be busy but there is another entrance that is much quiter behind the community college, there are also toilets at this entrance.
