Great place. Great changing facilities, a lot of the lockers wouldn't work, we had to keep trying different ones until we found a secure one. Other people were disgruntled by this also as they were holding small children whilst trying to secure a locker and then having to lift all their stuff out and into another locker, multiple times. Lockers are €1, it pops back out when you put back in your locker key. Some family changing cubicles at the back of the changing room. Have a wee area for pushchairs/buggy's. Shower area just as you are leaving the pool area, and some individual shower cubicles with doors. A mirror area with hair dryers, which you pay for. We bought tickets online, couldn't check in until 15 mins before the swim time. There is now a small viewing area behind the check-in desk, with table, chairs, and a tv. There is a small shop here that sells coffee ,which was absolutely beautiful, and only €3!! Amazing! They sell tea and soft drinks, some crisps, chocolate, sweets etc. Small selection but very reasonable prices. Overall, a great experience and it's great to see the viewing gallery/ seating area on my visit this time as this was never here on the previous years that I visited. We will...
Read moreI have been going to waterworld since I was a child and have had many happy memories there. Today I went with my own daughter and brother and I am completely shocked that our bags were removed from cubicles by a lifeguard whilst we were in having a shower. We left our bags in lockers the whole time we were swimming and only removed them to a cubicle to go and have a shower. I returned to my cubicle to discover it locked and my bag gone. I panicked, as all my personal belongings including phone and wallet were in it, and asked the person that came out of the cubicle if they had seen the bags. They told me that a customer had asked a lifeguard to remove our bags from the cubicles. There were no visible signs to say that bags would be lifted by staff if they were left in cubicles (mine was in a cubicle for 5 minutes max). The policy was not clear so I did not know what to do or who to ask when my bags were removed. Me, my 8 year old daughter and brother were left standing in our bathing suits for over 10 mins waiting for our bags to come back to us.
This is not good enough as staff should not be able to touch bags without consent. I will never be back
Furthermore, the lack of facilities and viewing...
Read moreVisited waterworld today. This review is based on a spectator experience and not one on actually using the pool and slide facilities. My husband, toddler, sister and her there children used the pool and slides and had a great time. However as a spectator with a 3 month old baby my experience was totally negative. 1 ) to access the viewing area you have to leave the building and walk externally to the other end of the building to access it. Thankfully it was a dry day so didn't get soaked going to it.
at the viewing area there is no seating, so not very good if you have a new born and want to sit back and relax whilst enjoying watching the rest of the family have fun.
the cafe facility is very poor, there are chairs with side rail shelf, but no actual table and chairs which also makes it awkward when trying to feed a new baby.
4.) The area cafe & separate viewing area looked dirty and very dated.
In summary, the viewing area should have seats so that you can sit and enjoy watching your family play. The cafe should have some table and chairs and the area itself needs to be tidied up..
If this is Ireland's premier waterpark then i would not like to...
