This is a most picturesque “backwater” of Connemara, I am descended from these native Gaelic speaking sheep farmers!
For anyone travelling here please heed this request, the local County Council makes NO efforts to maintain the cleanliness of the areas used by visitors. It falls to my sister and her neighbours to try and keep the beach clean and safe however if visiting please take any rubbish with you and dispose of it in town centre dumpsters!
