Portumna Forest Park in County Galway is a beautiful, peaceful spot for a family outing. The wide woodland and grassy glades feel very serene. Kids can roam and play freely among the trees, and there’s plenty of wildlife (you might spot squirrels or deer). There are lots of trails for walking and biking throughout the park of varying lengths through the woods With so much open space, kids love zipping around or kicking a ball on the grass between trails. Visitor facilities are very family-friendly. There’s a car park right at the entrance, and yes, toilets on site In short, the park is set up to be convenient so families can focus on fun and exploring. If you head a short distance out of the park you can reach Lough Derg, but the forest itself is all trees and trails. Overall it’s a warm, welcoming place that’s hard to beat for a relaxed family day out. It feels safe and laid-back, and families really...

I'd definitely recommend visiting if you like the outdoors or are just looking for a place to take a...
