Great place for the kids. We had 5 kids under 7 with us on this occasion. Plenty of parking. Bring buggies or balance bikes or scooters for the small kids. A lot of walking. The playground is fab for small kids. They love the area around the castle. The fairy trail through the woods is very very good. The toilets have been open over the summer, and v. clean, with nappy changing facilities available. I found these toilets are frequently closed in the past, maybe it's a seasonal thing. Beautifully maintained and clean park. Huge space for the kids. Plenty of picnic tables for the snacks. My only complaint is the ice cream van, its approx 2.50-3euro a cone, no lower price for a small child's cone. The ice cream is delicious, but it's there all the time and the kids always look for it, which often ends up with a few tantrums. Easily pass 3-4 hours with kids there if bring...

Lovely park to visit. Large grass area to play on, quality walking paths. Excellent short hiking trails. Little bit of history tucked in between the park and the play area. Ice cream cart was open when we were there. Does have toilet facilities in one of the main buildings.

BBQ area with picnic tables close to the playground.

Lots of parking available, unless it's sunny, you might have some trouble finding a parking spot. Beautiful forest to explore and the fairy trail is beautiful with all the little fairy doors against the trees.

View of the ocean is right there while you relax when the kids play on the large grass area.

Bins and chairs available near grass patch.

Dogs are welcome to join...

First timers here. My daughter aged 4 and I wanted some exercise while we waited for our companion in the Galway clinic. Plenty of free parking mid-week. You can definitely get your exercise here between walks of varying lengths, playground and gym equipment. We were disappointed that the fairy trail hasn't reopened due to fallen trees presumably post storm Eowyn. What we saw looks good though. I also really liked wheelchair and buggy accessible picnic table and chairs and built in BBQs. We spotted a coffee truck but didn't purchase anything. Highly recommended for fresh air away from the bustle in...
