Wildlands in Moycullen, about a twenty minute drive from Galway City, is an excellent way to spend a morning/afternoon.

It is ALL outdoors and has an array of levels that you work up to. The day we went was a sunny crisp clear sky of a morning with no breeze. There is plenty of parking space. My own feeling here would be arriving early as it can become very busy very quickly.

Our experience began shortly after 10am. We arrived 20 minutes before this which allowed us to become familiar with the equipment. (I would also recommend visiting the loo before getting the kit on.)

Be advised you sign a waiver online. The waiver puts all the responsibilities of potential injuries on you and not the facility.

There is a weight restriction too.

If you are comfortable with that, have fun.

The instructions provided by the team on our visit were clear, helpful and delivered with a degree of humour that makes it all about fun.

I apologise that I do not remember the names of the folk who helped us except for 'The Red Blob!' It would take too much to explain that. However, their encouragement, professionalism and patience made the experience so enjoyable. There is NO judgement. It's ALL about your ability and comfort. That meant a lot to me. This includes situations where my nerves got the better of me.

We enjoyed the whole course and it can be about dealing with new challenges as much as having fun.

It's a three hour time allowance and we may have had time over but as it was we'd finished the course.

Based on our experience today we would absolutely recommend a visit.

If you are reading this in January 2022 I'm sorry to inform you that the facility is closing for three weeks to facilitate maintenance and other site work.

There is a restaurant here as well. As this was a present for me, a table had been booked.

The food is good but this part was exceptionally busy with patrons and orders to go.

Be advised that there may be lots of excited children. Our visit wasn't bothered by this but at peak times it might be different.

What annoyed us was the fact that a reservation had been made for 2pm. We arrived 15 minutes early and we told our table was not ready and could we come back. We agreed. It was still a nice afternoon and we walked around the facility.

At our return at 2pm our table was still not ready. In fact, we didn't have a table. In fact, we had to wait and watch while a table and chairs were brought together for us. It was busy. However, as our meal progressed, we saw other tables being prepared with the ubiquitous Reserved sign.

These tables were ready for their guests arrival and properly furnished with condiments, hand sanitizer and cleaned. It's a little bit meh when you have to keep asking already busy staff for simple things like salt; pepper; napkins! No one was rude and the service was good but, we had Reserved!

It just marred what had been a great day.

I will concede that these tables were for bigger groups but all the same, we'd Reserved too.

In conclusion. Wildlands facility - Brilliant. Great staff and a potential test of your abilities.

Wildlands Restaurant - By all means reserve your table. The food and table service is...

Had an absolutely amazing day in Wildlands today, we had booked in as a group for archery, fun walls and both the zip and trek and zip and trek junior. It was our sons 13th bday and we had his friends, siblings and cousins - for archery the bigger ones (6- adults) had a great session while our youngest two and I booked lunch and saw the new off road adventure- met the staff on it and saw how it worked and they said they would help me with our super excited 3yr old as I also had a 7month old. I booked the ticket and the two guys at it were just so brilliant helping take ds around thankfully being so early it was very quiet. Next we had fun walls as a group and the guys couldn’t have been nicer, our 3yr old feeling left out they made great time for and showed him around, we had lunch booked for 12.15 and it was amazing - the chips were divine and highly recommend the pizzas and bruschetta- kids loved their kids meals too! Love the recyclable/compostable trays. After lunch we had zip and trek - big ones on the main trek which they loved and I went with the smallies to the junior trek, we met staff member Sean who I have to single out for high praise (on the double) he had us on the fun walls as well and he remembered all the kids names and helped them all - also Maura was great! The three on the junior track were nervous enough and they were just amazing with them (we had another adult booked who couldn’t make it to help so it meant I was on my own with the three and a baby who amazingly slept for most the session) - they were literally looking for Sean and Maura ahead of me for help and reassurance! We had a most amazing experience and I cannot praise the staff highly enough for making it such a great day Having done the zip and trek type experience in France many times its just mind blowing and amazing to have it on the west coast of Ireland! For the variety of ages we had, the food, the facilities (toilets and baby changing) and the staff adding to the over all experience I couldn’t rate the place higher and I cannot wait to come...

Exceptional.

Kids did the junior Zipline, Archery and finished off with the high walls. All activities top notch and easy to book online. Considering the ridiculous price of Activity Insurance in this country, I thought the prices were very fair.

Grounds are stunning and exceptionally clean. Was impressed to see a young member of staff even raking the sand in the kiddies playground. Wouldn't see that on most golf courses! Everything well organised and the booking system ensures the park isn't over run with people (unlike Emerald Park which is a disaster).

Restaurant was excellent. You definitely need to pre-book this!

What really made our day was the exceptional staff. Each and every member we met was friendly and helpful. Jenny and Danni on reception (and over the phone), Tom and Lauren were excellent with them on the junior zip as were the two (blonde haired girl and boy) on the climbing walls.

Have to mention the two lads who were over the archery - Paul and Oran - who were simply outstanding. So much fun and great with our kids. This is an activity where kids can understandably get frustrated very quickly. No chance with these two. Our Finn and Sophie had great fun with them and would have stayed all day with them. Exceptionally pleasant, fun and easy-going young men.

The staff at Wildlands rotate at intervals between the various activities, instead of being stationary all day with one. This shows and is a fantastic approach and is obvious with the enthusiasm shown by all staff we met.

Our itinerary worked perfectly as well: 10:00-11:30 (Junior Zip Wire) 11:30-13:00 (Archery) 13:00-14:30 (Lunch and a walk through the Fairy Forest) 14:30-16:00 (Climbing Walls)

*One suggestion I would make is to change the 'Ring Golf' to 'Foot golf'. Easier and more fun for participants.

We will be back again and definitely...

We went there with 2 children, 8 and 4. The staff on reception were friendly and great help, showing us on the map where all the amenities were located. We booked online before we arrived and this was our first visit. Coffee shop was great, again lovely staff/ very helpful. Food was amazing as well!! We attended the junior zip trek on the day. The three members of staff were great with lots of knowledge, both on the course and how to get the kids involved on the safety briefing. The time slot is 90 minutes, and you'd think it's loads of time, BUT It flies!! We then went to the small play area after the zip trek as they are located beside each other. It is small and probably better suited to younger children. Before we went home we walked around the fairy trek. It's a lovely walk and the kids were running about pick out all of the small fairy houses along the way. With the time of year I'd suggest bringing a change of clothes/shoes for the small and big kids!! Parts can be muddy, especially coming off of the zip lines at the end of the junior trek!! All in all it was a brilliant few hours spent, and we will be back for the bigger trek, there seem to be a height limit for that one, 140cm is the smallest allowed so our 8yo needs to sprout a small bit more before then.

We recently held our corporate team event at Wildlands in Moycullen and had an absolutely brilliant experience. The event room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully set up with thoughtful table décor and designated areas for coats and bags. The projector worked perfectly, making our presentations seamless. Lunch at the Olive Tree Kitchen was a highlight — we enjoyed a delicious variety of food including pizzas, burgers, and goujons. The team was incredibly accommodating with dietary needs, offering great vegan and vegetarian options. In the afternoon, we split into three groups for activities: the Ninja Course, Escape Rooms, and Zip ‘n’ Track. Despite the rainy weather, the atmosphere was upbeat and energetic. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and professional. We were well looked after throughout the day, with plenty of coffee and refreshments available. A special shoutout to James, our event organiser, who was fantastic in coordinating everything to suit our needs. His support made the day run smoothly from start to finish. Highly recommend Wildlands for any corporate or team-building event — great facilities, amazing staff, and a truly memorable experience!

We spent two nights at wildlands this March. Two adults, two children. I was impressed with the overall cleanliness of the cabins and general areas. All staff we dealt with were very nice and friendly. I was surprised to learn that you don’t get any activities included with the price of the stay and had to pay additional fees for every activity. Although none of the activities were that expensive, when your doing a few a day it all adds up. I think one or two activities should be included in the price of a stay. The olive tree restaurant was very nice, we had dinner there one evening and lunch too. The cabins were lovely, no complaints other than a water boiler close to the bed which switched on at various intervals during the night and was quite loud. Everything you need to cook and self cater for your stay is there, lovely shower and bathroom too. The cabins were lovely and cosy with a log burner too. Highlight of the trip for my two children (under 5) was the off road adventure and An Baile Beag. Located 15/20mins drive from Galway city and salt hill was handy to be able to drive out for a couple hours too.
