Glencar lake is beautiful, it stretches over 2 counties, Co.Sligo and Co.Leitrim. At the sligo end near the Glencar Water plant there is a carpark with benches, you will notice here there is a small white sandy beach. What you no longer see is the ruins of the old barytes mine across the road, it is due to this that you have that white sandy beach and you will see the small one stones that use to be mined. Just before the Leitrim boarder you will see the devil's chimney, if this waterfall is blowing upwards its a sign that bad weather is on the way. I prefer the one the the fishermen use as I think the view is a little bit better. The second is by the waterfall and teahouse, it has a small visitors centre and public toilets. Parking and entry to the waterfall are free. I think campers can park there overnight...
