1st attempt failed as we were unpreped big time:) 2 ppl, not in shape what a fail. My takeaway : propper hiking shoes, walking sticks and plenty of water. We had the shoes so next time we will be ready. Check the weather before start for sure, its a mountain so it changes fast. Got up till the big stonepyramid and from there it gets hard. If you go right from here the trail ends after a while. Turn left and be really ready to go all the way. The views are stunning. The car park is small but there is ample space before it on the roadside. Make sure to close the 2 gates after yourself and if you think your dog will be fine think again. If you are fitt less than 5 hrs and your back at your car, if not waaaaay more. NOT an easy trail by far so i would not take kids with. But its awesome, will be back for 2nd attempt soon.

This hike exceeded my expectations. Parked at Galtyway Climb car park and walked directly up. Weather moved in fast, so what started as bright blue skies ended up extremely foggy and misty at the top. Not great views this time, but I’ll definitely be back. Things to be aware of: -No dogs allowed (literally signs stating that they will be shot 😳) -Trail up can be very rocky and uneven. Easy to sprain ankle -There are great views even halfway up, but if going to the top you should absolutely have good waterproof hiking shoes. The terrain can be very boggy and wet even on dry days -The top will be much chillier than the bottom. Be prepared with proper clothing -Gets steep near the top. Climbing sticks can be helpful for the ascent/descent -This is an epic Irish hike. 🇮🇪

Tough hike to Limerick / Tipperarys high point at 918m , glad I did it but it will never be one of my favourites , set off from King's yard on a nice morning , but cloud and rain soon came in as I ascended , the white painted rocks really helped guide me as there wasn't great visibility, highly recommend using the "all trails app" the directions were 100%. It was really exposed going up to the summit the wind was literally taking me off my feet and I hadnt seen another hiker all that day , felt a little isolated and dangerous at the top , never so glad to get off a summit , respect the mountain .... be prepared.

An absolutely wonderful walk from the South car park past the sheep and rabbits took about three hours. The top of the mountain was hidden by large clouds and fog, so the view from there was not very good. We were going down, the sun peeked out. And we were able to enjoy the view of the lake.

Ireland is full of lovely mountains and this was certainly one of them. The hike difficultly level is moderate and takes 5 hours approximately. During the hike you can see lot of sheeps and lakes. The descent is bit challenging as there is no proper trail with uneven ground.

Lovely day, nice and clear till the final climb up Galty Mòr where conditions changed, with cloud cover and strong winds sweeping in. You can never be too careful always be prepared for the worst
