Visited Glenstal Abbey for Dad's (Sean Flannery Nenagh RIP) 1st Anneversery on Holy Thursday. Joined The Community for their prayers & walked in the Magnificent Gardens felt Dad was with us enjoying the stroll. Thank you all in the Community there for the welcoming atmosphere you provide to all who visit.

A sacred place even if you're not Christian. Time, history and the quiet of the Irish countryside. We were given a private walk with a group through the old gardens.

Calm and quiet place. Best for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Hospitality of the Benedictine priests are great.

First time to visit this location, what a wonderful place to find, it is a good 20 minute drive from Limerick City, the roads are quite dangerous on the way, so make sure to keep to the left and proceed with caution, apart from that there is some parking spaces but not sure what time they close the gates as times may vary for winter hours, there is a information centre and reception there we had a peep inside, very nice indeed, the church seems quite new, it looks like a modern version of an ancient structure, there is a nice walk down the abbey, lots of tree specimens to view, and along the road we passed the what seems like a running river, maybe into a lake, and the views are stunning, I snapped some really nice pictures of the castle, gate and cannons.

The letters PAX is above the gate, it means Peace in Latin, very interesting stories about this place, monks living here and anyone can come stay if they want to experience what it's like living a simple life, not sure what is a charge for the retreat, but would be interesting to...

I love this place. This is a boys school with national recognition for excellence. The grounds are particularly beautiful at the moment. All the beautiful Rhodadendrons are in bloom and other blooming trees with a beautiful fragrance. I walk the dog in their grounds every day practically. The peace and quiet is worth visiting it for too. The church has been recently refurbished with underfloor heating and is always warm. The monks and priests are always most welcoming and they have a lovely well...
