I brought my class here on a school trip to the centre today and I cannot speak highly enough of the the staff, the tour itself and the centre itself. My class were enthralled and loved the hands on aspect of the tour. The tour was interactive and this kept the class engaged and interested. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to the Centre. They were dressed up in Norman costumes, given a fun quiz to complete and they got to be Normans and archaeologists. Well done on such a well organised facility. Would have no hesitation in recommending this and will most definitely bring future...

Brought the 5th and 6th class that I teach to visit this centre. They really enjoyed the whole experience and were talking about it for days. I myself was really impressed by the centre and I could not believe how much there was to see. Lots of visual and aural displays to interact with and the kids really enjoyed the digging for artefacts room. I highly recommend visiting this centre and Granard and Co.Longford should be proud to have such an educational facility in our locality. Couldn't speak more highly of it and thanks to the 2 ladies who guided...

This was a fun, interactive tour. Robert was an amazing tour guide with lots of information (some I knew and some I didn't). I was glad to hear my wife, sister and I were the first visitors from Alabama and I would suggest this tour for anyone who has a fancy for viking history and how it affected Ireland, Britain, and Northern France. We will be back when the village is built!

SKÄL!

Also, being from the states, the 9/11 portion was a neat little tidbit. Thanks for pointing us to go up to the motte as well!

Had an absolutely FANTASTIC time with myself and four kids ranging from 3 all the way up to 16! The enthusiasm from Deirdre and Marcus was infectious and the kids ate up all of the fun interesting facts they shared. They loved holding the shields and creating the wall and feeling the weight of REAL chainmail!! The interactive room was equally as impressive and we go to spend as much time as we wanted. So proud to have this lovely amenity in our locality and it was topped by a loved lunch in the Bailey next door!

An interactive and comprehensive Viking/Norman museum. Really enjoyed it. Good for adults and kids. Kids choose a Norman to be, then put on Medieval clothing. There are a number of rooms with different Norman themes, showing the battles, the way they lived, the weapons, etc. The museum ends with a Kitty Kiernan room which discusses Michael Collins and the war for Irish independence. Today there were birds of prey, which was fascinating. Great day out with the family.
