Absolutely gorgeous place. We were lucky enough to visit it on a gorgeous sunny afternoon. The shimmering light on it blue waters made it even more wonderful. It has a small car park around a tight bend, can accommodate 10-12 vehicles, so can get crowded pretty quickly. Alternatively one can park across the bridge towards Leenane (there is a bigger car park) and then walk up here (will be quite a walk).. The entrance to the fall is shrouded behind bushes and one has to stop and look to find it or just follow the crowd.. The walk till the fall is not straightforward, requires one to navigate through rocks and boggy, wet grasses, not is not tricky and can be easily done. Near the fall one can sit on the big rocks lying there strategically to give you the best view of the fall or you can climb up further to the tip of the fall via a narrow path towards the left of fall. It will bring you at the top of the fall and you will be greeted with even better view of gorgeous valley and the surroundings mountains.. No cafe or public amenities here.. if you need one the nearest is the Leenane...

Located on the county border Aasleagh Falls is located approximately 1 km north of the border between counties Galway and Mayo, on the River Erriff, shortly before it flows into Killary Harbour. Part of the Western Way This waterfall is the starting point for one section of the long-distance Western Way walk. The walk along the Erriff river valley, with views of lakes, mountains, and forests, is very picturesque. Popular spot for salmon fishing and easy walking The water near the falls is part of a salmon run, so fishing here is especially popular in the summer months. Furthermore, the approach to the waterfall is quite easy—the path is short, but can become...

Visited 08/06/2021. This is a great spot to visit for a quick walk and some photos, and doesn't appear as though it would be too busy (although that might not be the case in non-covid times). There is a carpark just on the road near the falls, and there is a nice path up both sides of the river. The path to the right if the river when walking up stream has the best views, but you will need waterproof shoes and is it very wet and muddy. The views all around the waterfall and river are also stunning with 360 views...
