This Discovery Point, along the southern coast of Achill Island that looks down onto Ashleam Bay, is a small pebbly cove sometimes known as Portnahally. A series of hairpin bends descend from this point to the inlet of Ashleam Bay which is enclosed by rock cliffs some 100ft high. This vantage point boasts a series of exceptional panoramic and elevated viewpoints. It offers one of the most breathtaking views on...

This is one of our favorite spots in Ireland. At one point during the week when we went we were the only ones there. The views are incredible, even when cloudy. It's a quiet place to just enjoy the walk and the views on this beautiful island. The kids enjoyed running around, seeing the sheep, and collecting wool on the ground. Be mindful of some areas, since the cliffs up on the overlook are pretty high and...

Such a magical place in Achill Island. We were late going to hotel so didn't have enough time to enjoy the views. But it is so worth to see and to spend some time there enjoying the views. The view is as impressive as maybe any other western shore cliffs, across the island. Good stop to relax a little, enjoy the silence and take in the sound of the ocean. Rated only 4 stars because it's not as spectacular as Sleeve League, or Moher.
