The oldest working windmill in Ireland. Restored in the early 90's and officially reopened by Irish actor Gabriel Byrne. Nice little guided tour by a friendly knowledgeable local man. Lots of history and old machinery and a perfect working replica of windmill on display in the rebuilt barn. Also a video of the opening ceremony. It's missing a coffee shop but if you have a packed lunch and weather is pleasant there are picnic benches on site. Well worth a visit. There is a fee for the tour. But we'll worth it if history and windmills are your thing.

Stayed in The Silver Eel and visited The Elphin windmill on the way back to Dublin. The Windmills is beautiful and well worth a visit. Nesting Swallows patrolled the skies for passing flies and brought back food for nesting chicks all adding enjoyment to the tour. Our guide was a lady called Kathleen and as there was only 4 of us on this tour, she was very helpful in answering our questions.

Fascinating working Windmill, well worth a visit. Friendly informative local guide/volunteer. Amazing restoration work on all aspects of the old stone building. A take you back in time museum also included with many old home items. Bonus a nice 6acre biodiversity park and walkway. On my doorstep and will be back to rediscover more.

Had a brilliant evening with my family, we got the tour even though we showed up a little late and it was getting close to closing, the tour guide took the time to answer all of our questions and give us a wonderful experience.

Well worth the 8 euro we spent per person, check it out and support local!

It was fascinating and the tour guide was both knowledgeable and...
