Atlantic Technological University Sligo — Attraction in County Sligo

I studied here as an online student. Some of the lecturers were completely unapproachable and didn't answer queries or e-mails and shouldn't be lecturing at all. We had one that didn't grade our work on time, did no preparation for lab days so they were a waste of time when we did go there, and seemed to pull marks out of the air. To be fair, there were others that were absolutely committed to doing their best for the students and would go the extra distance to help. It's a real mixed bag and you may be lucky or not, depending on the course that you choose. The college itself is clean and reasonably well maintained, so no issues there. A lot of the exams are on Saturday and the main food court isn't open, so they could be a bit better in that regard. All in all, if you're going to choose this college you should be prepared to put in a huge amount of effort to make up for their shortcomings. They could be so much better if they were able to lose the lecturers that don't care to...

All you will hear from lecturers is that they don't get payed for this and that, terrible behaviour from them like cursing during presentations and just a farmer type attitude in general, yet expect students jump thru hoops when it suits them. Management is never to be seen except for some workers who are trying to being in good changes and currently are being harassed by teachers union for doing so. This place is slipping quick, and is mainly functioning as advertisement grounds for abbvie and Abbot. 4rth year presiosion course had one lecture in the whole semester, it resulted in some difficulties when it came to exams, so the lecturer feeling guilty just gave out the answers. It's mad, something you see in movies...

International student here. The IT is a great school but does have its imperfections. It's layout and amenities are nice with a few places to find hot/cold food and beverages around campus, a couple convenience stores in and around the main building too. Library is not very big but does the job. Hours open so you can do work should be extended. Knowledgeable Professors though the actual education system seems pretty laid back here. Administrative staff are somewhat quick , but can sometimes be very unhelpful. AIB bank on site (face-to-face/withdrawals).
