Berties Pitch and Putt — Attraction in County Sligo

Staff very friendly could not fault them. €10 per person for Pitch and Putt is expensive especially when it felt like the green fees being collected are not being reinvested in improving the course. The greens are in poor condition not cut enough, with weeds, moss and tree roots on them. The tee boxes also need to be replaced as they are very very old and beyond their useful life. Overall with small improvements to the greens and tee boxes this place has serious potential with a varied length of shots and challenges on offer. This place deserves ZERO stars, if it was possible, for the lack of customer care for a start. As it is early November, we called in advance to check opening times. A voice message stated that the course is currently open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and based on that information, we travelled a long distance on a Saturday, arriving in the late morning, to find a chain across the entrance, no sign of life in the reception office and no sign at the entrance to indicate current opening times. How to ruin a family day out. An encounter with Michael screaming at us that only 4 people can play together and when we explained it was a family day out he replied very loudly "my course, my rules." There was nobody behind us, so we were not holding anyone up. Interestingly was that we ended up with a group of 5 just behind us and another ahead of us.
