I was looking for somewhere local to go fishing on a boat and spotted Derrymore Springs on google search. Despite living half an hour away I never heard of it before and I'm so glad to have found it now. It's an absolutely fabulous spot for kayaking, peddle boating, fishing (catch and release) and forest walks. There are changing rooms, a clean toilet block, covered eating area, picnic benches and lots of little benches dotted around to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. The grounds are spotlessly clean, well maintained and there's ample parking. You can hire everything including fishing rods at very reasonable prices. We (4 adults, 1 child) decided to hire peddle boats (life jackets included) and fishing rods, despite not catching anything we still had a fantastic time. Also to note two of us don't like the water and can't swim but managed the peddle boats just fine. Pat the owner is a gentleman and has done an amazing job here. We'll certainly be back and highly recommend it to all.

The best day out with my family , it was very welcoming and helpful . The land is amazing . If you're looking for water activities for all the family, this is the place you need to be . They have pedal boats ,kayaks ,inflatable water bounce, and fishing . The price won't be beating in ireland either. Very very well run and well worth the experience

Short walk. Toilets available. Found tiny frogs which my daughter was delighted with. We had a great time. Cafe type set up there but was closed when we visited. Honesty box on site for donations for maintenance. They do have kayaks etc there for rent too, but I think you prebook.

loved the boats and the inflatables, the best is the banana shaped thing, very hard to get on especially if the person on it wants to stay king of the castle, or if 2 people try to climb up on the same side, the trampoline thing is very popular, hard to get a go on it as there is always someone there, and when you finally get a go, you realize that a trampoline on water does not work like an trampoline on your lawn, and you'll just swim back to the banana thing. Staff are relaxed and just seem happy to be there which...

I was only here a coach driver bringing a school for they're summer tour but it looks brilliant for the kids, there is height restrictions but these shouldn't matter when you're bringing children kayaking and water activities, plenty of staff and lifeguards, when you look out across the lake and hear that it took six years to dig out you'll say you thought it would have always been there, well...
