What was suppose to be a memorial, uplifting and hope-filled day, having both a tradition Irish naming ceremony for a new born and wedding union in the form of hand fasting, on the majestic Hill of Uisneach was turned into a crude and distasteful day by one practical woman/mangment! From the first encounter I had with this woman (as I wish to write with brevity I will not use the word lady as this would only degrade the term) it was unpleasant and hostile in both tone and body language, not just I, but multiple other guests experienced being approached and treated in a sordid fashion. One experience I recall was that we needed some extra time for someone to fetch the bouquet for the bride and we were met with "oh for f@$% sake" which also included eye rolls. This woman interrupted the wedding a second time mid-way through just as the bride was about to begin her vows!!! Wow...👏 customer service must be top of the list. This day was booked for both occasions. This was known by other members of staff/guides as I was asked at the beginning of the day by a beautiful welcoming lady Helen who also works on the Hill who politely and kindly asked which occasion am I part of. Communication seems to be seriously lacking between the staff members but first and foremost, lacking humanity. What a shame as this despicable, distasteful, nasty behaviour grates against the very integrity of what the Hill of Uisneach is known for and stands for down through history! Connection, power and unity! Having such a person "manage" such a sacred environment severely dishevelles the powerful connection that was forged in the past to be maintained at present...more like a cattle mart now or at least that might be where the woman would be best suited to work....I would...

This is my second visit to the hill. I returned because this placed haunted me the entire year I was home back in the states.
I had a tour guide last yr wIth a large group and the stories he told about the history of this place enchanted my imagination so much so that I felt the need to come back.
I can close my eyes and see the women and men of so many yrs ago preparing for winter and better yet picture them getting the fire ready for the arrival of summer.
To know I stood in the same steps of those that shaped this beautiful and enchanting country we call Ireland is an absolute honour and a true gift.
Seeing the lake the warrior Lugh fought and died by amazed me and and gave me chills knowing I was standing in such an mystical and historical place.
On the walk to the cat stone I could almost feel the eyes of the fairies and the small ones watching me as I intently listened to the guide. I felt as I was walking through the most wonderfully magic movie. Hoping that time would stand still and I could stay right there enjoying that particular moment to the fullest.
I left there a better person than before. The tour this yr was a private tour with the same very kind and gifted tour guide named Marty. As last yr, I left a better person and without doubt, I'll return as soon as possible. It restores my soul to visit such an enchanted lovely place. Thank u for the experience and...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing event in a beautiful and historic location- had a great time and it felt so magical. My suggestions to make it even better next time would be to consider making it a 2-3 day event as there was too much to do for such a short period of time and i feel like a weekend event could give a more immersive experience also since a lot of people travel from different parts of the country to make it. I also feel that there should be a camping area for tents and not just caravans to be accomodating for people who travelled far to the festival, i booked a camping site in mullingar but it would’ve been more convenient at the festival which leads me onto my third point about the shuttle bus going back to mullingar after the festival, for such a large amount of festival attendees i don’t understand how better arrangements weren’t made when it came to the shuttle bus service as people including myself were waiting around 2 hours for the bus back to mullingar as they sent one small bus at a time for a large group of people waiting…next time there should be multiple buses coming to pick up the huge crowd of people to bring them back.
overall it was an amazing experience and thank you...
