Curracloe Beach is a beautiful stretch of white sandy beach in County Wexford. Beach is over 11km (7 miles) long and pure Blue Flag magnificence, backed by an ancient dune system. The pale gold deserted sands stretch from Raven Point to Ballyconigar near Blackwater. Everyone now knows that the dramatic opening scenes in Saving Private Ryan are mostly shot in this beach. The beauty of the beach its length and the high dunes, which makes a favourite for the kids to Sandsurf from the dunes.

Cannot begin to explain how wonderful this beach is. Happened to stumble across this beach on our recent visit to Wexford and to say we were pleasantly surprised was an under statement. Spectacularly amazing. The white shimmering sand was out of this world. Remarkably long stretch of beach where you would sink into the thick white sand. Was utterly blown away. The strand goes on for more than the eye can see, and not an ounce of litter to be seen. Really worth a visit.

We had an amazing visit to this beach! Great weather! Enjoyed the sun and beach. There were loads of people but since the beach was a good stretch, it was not packed. Perfect for picnics, strolling with family and pets, and just relaxing/meditating. No problem with food and toilet because there's one just a few minutes of walk away.. public transportation not easily available. Should go here with car. We took a taxi going here from clayton whites, 50euros 2-way.

I think it has a great case to make for the best beach in Wexford. Soft white sand, great shallow swimming for kids, dunes to explore etc etc - have they mentioned Saving Private Ryan was filmed here 😂, it was. And yet another reason to visit this fantastic beach.

There's a coffee shop & fast food place at the main entrance to the beach (presumably with seasonal opening hours - we visited in July). Parking is pretty decent but fills up fast on sunny days. If you can't find a spot and you're impatient I recommend heading back up the road towards Curracloe - there's a spot that offers all day parking for €5 and the ladies running the show are very welcoming...

We had THE best swim of the Summer here. The beach is beautiful with loads lovely golden sand. The sea stays shallow enough to feel safe for adults and children. It was like a trip back to childhood. It was very clean which is lovely to see. There is a shop selling all sorts of goods along with food, drinks and ice creams. The car park is free and we got a spot right beside the beach access. The public toilets are on the other side of the car park. While they aren't luxurious, they were clean, had toilet paper and soap. So they were adequate. Curracloe is the kind of beach we'd plan to...

Its a lovely beach but people bring there dogs and they poop and piss everywhere and most of the owners do not clean it up....I don't know if dogs are even allowed on the beach! if there not that rule is being ignored and the lifeguards are not implementing it either so its a big shame as my child was paddling in one of the shallow water areas up on the beach and a dog pissed in it just afew meters away and just afew meters away in the other direction there was dog poop around..two big...
