I think it has a great case to make for the best beach in Wexford. Soft white sand, great shallow swimming for kids, dunes to explore etc etc - have they mentioned Saving Private Ryan was filmed here 😂, it was. And yet another reason to visit this fantastic beach.
There's a coffee shop & fast food place at the main entrance to the beach (presumably with seasonal opening hours - we visited in July). Parking is pretty decent but fills up fast on sunny days. If you can't find a spot and you're impatient I recommend heading back up the road towards Curracloe - there's a spot that offers all day parking for €5 and the ladies running the show are very welcoming...
Read moreWe had THE best swim of the Summer here. The beach is beautiful with loads lovely golden sand. The sea stays shallow enough to feel safe for adults and children. It was like a trip back to childhood. It was very clean which is lovely to see. There is a shop selling all sorts of goods along with food, drinks and ice creams. The car park is free and we got a spot right beside the beach access. The public toilets are on the other side of the car park.
