Have visited three times. The first time a very pleasant experience although the cost of the entrance fee (which is steep if thereâs four of you) was not clearly advertised on the main road. This was in the Spring and the Waterfall was beautiful. The second time was not so good, the bridges had fell into disrepair and obviously the entrance fee was of more interest to the owners than the facilities they claim to upkeep with the charge. The third visit confirmed my thoughts on the second as I was merely showing a relative from the USA the waterfall (please note the waterfall in the summer is usually a trickle at best). He has severe breathing and walking difficulties, is 85 and making what was his last trip to Kerry. After two previous visits and stopping briefly on the car park for him to take in the view, I personally felt no harm in using the car park to turn around, only to be reprimanded by the owner who was both rude and aggressive in her demeanour. Following an explanation of my relatives condition and that we were just turning around the attitude did not change in anyway whatsoever. Iâve also heard of people making the long journey down to the park unaware of the costs, the inability to take âfreeâ photos from the owners road, or wanting to turn around in the car park, also facing a similar experience, having to still pay the fee! There are even reports of being chased by the owners husband and treated to the same verbal abuse. Personally, the view of the waterfall from the stone circle is enough, with a voluntary contribution to help the upkeep of this important monument the only charge. I gladly popped my 7 Euro in their box instead! We will see what comments come from the owner with this review, but the claim of private property doesnât wash as nobody owns a view, a sign on the entrance that you cannot enter the car park without being charged wouldnât go amiss. A clear sign of a charge to enter the park on the main road would also not go amiss. Up to you, if you think it worth the money after being told clearly of the charge âbeforeâ you enter from the main road down to the park and again a warning âbeforeâ entering the car park itself, you can make an informed decision. Iâd rather give my cash to more deserving projects or charity. I wonât be contributing to the...

Read moreFirst of all: the people are very friendly and the hiking routes are very well marked and also very beautiful.
Of course the owners comes out when you park the car there and ask for the money for entry. But do you have thinking about it that there were built bridges, handrails and stairways made of solid stones, which need to be maintained and repaired. Also, I didn't see any litter, which is often the case in Ireland. And the operators probably have to take out expensive insurance, as is normal for such parks in Ireland.
That the road is narrow, yes that's true: But hey, if you canât drive on a narrow road please give back your driver's license. It's safer for all of us. Several cars came towards me. Then you just go backwards or drive over the banquette if possible. Otherwise go to Dublin, there is a motorway for novice drivers.
And people who complain about the waterfall for not being big: folks, this is pure nature. There is no tap that you can just turn on when a strange tourist comes along and is thinking the water is supposed to fall en masse for him. But I think if he wait for rain and goes after in this Park, the routes will be to slippery for him/her and he is blustering again.
Nice Park. We will visit it again next time we are in Ireland. Greetings from...
