I don't know what you're doing in Ireland. I don't know your plans or what city you're visiting, but I implore to take your time to check out the Kissane Sheep Farm! From the lambs to the puppies in training, it was the most magnificent time! The farm workers (who also do the demonstrations) are SUPER nice and engaging. So friendly and you can tell they have their heart into their farm. The demonstration was awe inspiring. Especially if you love dogs and want to see what they can really do when you train them well in what they do naturally. I am rooting for Pebbles to lose her wild child ways and become the determined herder I know she is! LOL. Kudos to the staff. When I visit Ireland, I plan on returning. It has been the highlight of my trip!

This place is absolutely worth it! Call ahead and see if they're doing a tour for a big group cause you can hop in on those. (Min of 15 people required for tour.) They have a fascinating sheep herding exhibition with their sheep dogs and afterwards you watch one guy shear a sheep both with electric clippers and old fashioned shears. The two tour guides are really knowledgeable since this is also their job and they've been sheep farmers since they were boys. They know the history and really care for their sheep. The tours pay for their farm and allow them to raise 2,000 sheep without killing a single one for produce, while also maintaining a charming tradition.

Unfortunately it was closed, but there was a lot of Wooly Jumpers (sheep) around the place, in one of the loveliest sights in Ireland, this is just one view from the farm...In good weather and I mean good weather, it's a must to drive through Killarney National Park to get to the farm...what's in Killarney National Park you ask, you just can't drive through it, you will have to stop at SOoo many places and you might see Red Deer as I did. Watch taking big six wheel camper vans, road can a bit narrow and very twisty, but the views and nature wow!!!!

Came here on a visit in August 2011. These are wonderful people (more on that in a moment). We had a great tour of the farm and my daughter really loved seeing the sheep, getting to help feed the babes by hand and meet the sheep dogs, one of which had pups a few months before. Loved the ruggedness of the terrain and even the paved road in is not without its dangers. As we prepared to leave I noticed a tire on the rental car had gone flat. There were some tight spots on the road and I'd gotten a little close to a rock. The owner changed the tire for me, doing it a lot more quickly than I could have. "Happens all the time here," he said. Well worth the drive and visit, if for no other reason than to me some...
