This is a good beach for bathing as the water can warm up on hot days when the tide is out but when the high tide returns then it quickly gets cold. The beach has a gradual slop but sometimes in high tide the water would reach the sand dunes. It no longer has its blue flag and the sand dunes are getting badly eroded. Something in summer they have temporarily Toilets (not disable) but not out of season. Lots of dog walkers come here and horses. If you walk to the end of the beach then there's a small stream between it and Lough Swilly Marina. There's a height restriction barrer at the entrance to the beach so if you have a high vehicle then it's better to park behind the Marina and walk across the stream.
