I visited the Sandymount Strand in May 2021. It was a good outing and I loved the experience. No rains and clear skies. It was low tide when I visited. Water recedes a long way and you could literally walk a long distance on the beach. The patterns on the sand (sand ripples or ripple marks) really intrigue you. It was nice to see people enjoying their stroll on the strand. I even found some pet dogs taking a dip in the isolated shallow water patches ! Kids would love the place and especially if they are allowed to get themselves dirty in the sand ! There is ample car parking. Parking I guess is free during the weekends. If you prefer not to walk on the sand, you can walk on the perimeter road and enjoy the view. There are benches along the road and greens to sit and relax. The ice cream truck at the premises was seen making brisk business ! One improvement areas I would say was the public toilet as it was coin operated with very small denominations. If you are walking on the sand, do it with bare feet, you will love it !

I’ve been in Dublin for two months. Everyday I walk the strand. Some days water some days no water. But the view is never the same. The people are the friendliest in the world. Just a simple hello can get you into a 15 minute more conversation. I love it. Only problem. Bathrooms. Bring 25 cents for the only bathroom around. Just a little heads up

Best walk in Dublin when you need to clear your head. The tide goes out so far you can walk for ages, and the view of Poolbeg chimneys never gets old. Found some amazing sea glass here last summer. Just watch out for sudden rain showers! Anyone will enjoy...
