I visited the Sandymount Strand in May 2021. It was a good outing and I loved the experience. No rains and clear skies. It was low tide when I visited. Water recedes a long way and you could literally walk a long distance on the beach. The patterns on the sand (sand ripples or ripple marks) really intrigue you. It was nice to see people enjoying their stroll on the strand. I even found some pet dogs taking a dip in the isolated shallow water patches ! Kids would love the place and especially if they are allowed to get themselves dirty in the sand ! There is ample car parking. Parking I guess is free during the weekends. If you prefer not to walk on the sand, you can walk on the perimeter road and enjoy the view. There are benches along the road and greens to sit and relax. The ice cream truck at the premises was seen making brisk business ! One improvement areas I would say was the public toilet as it was coin operated with very small denominations.
