For all my time living so close by, I had never visited Templetown beach until recently. It is located along the coast between Dundalk and Greenore. It's not very well signposted, so you may want to get your directions on Google Maps. It is a splendid beach area, although the sandy area is not very big, but the beach stretches on for quite some distance in both directions. There is a decent parking area, with basic facilities, and it gives you the feeling of being miles away from the hussle and bustle of motorways and towns, in a way that bigger beaches wouldn't. I really like it, and will be visiting it much...

Right side is quieter but little sand so difficult to walk if you're not sure-footed. Wear proper shoes. Gorgeous at sunset. Plenty of dog walkers but the further you walk around the bay the more peaceful it is. Nice to watch the oystercatchers. Pity about the rubbish & other items that I daren't mention left behind.. No toilets or amenities on that side and it's a fair walk up the beach fyi. Also the roads leading to both sides are narrow and windy with ditches either side. Caution required for...

It's a nice beach and it's clean enough with water suitable for swim. Nice place to take family for Sunday rest. Parking is unfortunately a problem. Not much space. And toilets could be put of order like today.
