This is a fairly short but challenging hike as it's a pretty steep climb. Experienced hikers could climb it in 50mins or so. For those of us who get out of breath climbing it might take a little longer It's a very straightforward climb and can be done with runners but I would always recommend walking shoes or boots. It just makes for a more comfortable hike on mountain terrain. Watch out for the weather. It can change the higher you go and can become windy and wet due to cloud cover even on what appears to be a lovely day. Always pack wet gear and water. Read moreFirstly, if coming from callan direction then Google maps is going to take you to the right road but drop you a bit early. Just keep going for about five minutes. I have put up pics of exactly what the pull in looks like. You can't miss it. If you're not sure then you're not in the right place. The walk itself is upsy. Make no mistake. It is a steep climb.
