Update: Ballycross continues to ignore my emails and facebook posts for my refund, aswell as other customers who are saying on Ballycross facebook page they are also being ignored, but instead can take the time to give a ridiculous reply to my review here which I can't reply to! I could not access their event due to their carpark which was wholly down to their management yet they are still having me to fight for my refund while ignoring me! Small claims court next!
I went there today with my 3 children and there was absolutely nowhere safe to park so had to leave after travelling over an hour and a half! The car park was an absolute disgrace, it should never have been opened or the bad parts closed off. Cars completely stuck in the mud down and some getting hauled out by tractors! A customer driving down infront of me told me not to go any further I would get stuck! When I asked a lady with blonde hair, 'where could I park that I won't get bogged down and that the car park shouldn't be open' she told me "Go off then" and walked off. I pay good money and travel a good distance to be treated like that by your staff when I asked where I could park that I wouldn't get bogged down?! After that I was fit to leave and came across another lady working there with short hair who told me she had stopped cars going up the part where I almost got bogged down myself and she also told me "not being rude but you should of stayed at home"! Why would I have stayed at home? Nowhere on your facebook did you notify customers how bad the car park situation was! Only that it was "muddy puddles, bring wellies and wetgear" Yes, I know it's going to be mucky in there we had all our wellies and our boots, we had spare clothes we had umbrellas we came completely prepared as we have been to your establishment before! Your staff telling me I will get towed out by the tractor if I get bogged down! This is 100% a health and safety matter let alone the damage that could be done to the cars! The public should have been made aware of the carpark this morning and refunds should have been offered to those not willing to risk damage to their cars!! Disgraceful running of a business! I expect a full refund asap. For anyone who had the same problems as me and think they are not entitled to a refund because their website says no refunds..... you are 100% entitled if you turned up to the event but could not access it because of the organisers lack of organisation and...
Read moreGreat place. It's a great setup with plenty of parking. we have been going here years with the family and will do for many more.
Well as soon as you enter and pay your in the courtyard, where they have a cafe food stalls and a shop set up, there is seating to relax and stables spread around it where the kids get to see the animals up close. They also cater to children's party's too.
Just outside, at a certain time, kids can go and hand feed animals (ducks chickens) under adult supervision.
Just beside that, there is a small bridge you walk over that leads to the back section, and for those afraid of heights at all, there is a walk way if the bridge is not your thing. Over there, they have go-carts for young and old, another seating picnic area, bouncy castle does be set up on nice days, pony rides, and more animals (goats lama's) that kids can feed again at a certain time.
They also have walking trails set up everywhere. And there is also a map they can provide to get you around with ease. Most of them leave you down where the kids get to see all the apple 🍎 trees.
At Halloween 🎃 they really go all out. They have a tractor trailer that people can get and go down and pick their very own pumpkin and then get it back to the courtyard. They also have a witches village where the staff put on a good show for the children. I have to say it's well worth it. As any farm around that time of year, make sure and bring old clothes, you don't mind getting a bit mucky.
I'd say I left out loads, but I'd highly recommend bringing the family and finding out for yourselves...
Read moreWe were there yesterday, sunday 17th of October for the Halloween pumpkins but was very offended by the owner, it was a very mucky day, we were there with family so they had a buggy and of course wheels of buggy got very mucky, as they would! So as we were leaving we decided to use the water hose to clean wheels which other people were doing too, the owner came and took it out of my husbands hand to go clean pumpkins so we waited till he was finished so we went to clean the buggy again and he literally snatched it out of my husband hand and got very rude, he only calmed down cos another person had made a comment to him about the way he was behaving, very disappointed after that and very reluctant to go again, im just glad that our grandchildren are only babies and wouldn't notice the bad attitude of people especially people that own this premises that are taking peoples money every day!! You would think they would take every opportunity to make peoples day a enjoyable one.... so not a...
