It is fun for the kids but be warned that the website and flyers are outdated, it costs a fortune to eat there and it feels like the place is run by an insurance company. The main attraction is the big slide which it shows on the website (I didn't read all the small print) a man and his daughter going down the slide together. My daughter did not reach the 1.2m requirement and I was told that 2 people were not allowed down the slide together. Admittedly after re-reading the website this is called out but I feel that there is some false advertising based on the splash page of the website, this is also on the flyers which they hand you at the entrance. The venue was clean and well kept but the information given at entry was very limited. There are plenty of BBQ stations and huts for customers to use but it is unclear if they are communal or if you need to book them. As a first time visitor I did not know if I could even use them! There is a restaurant on site but it cost me €15 for 4 chicken goujons, curry chips and a latte. All of which I could have bought in a centra for €7. The admission price for adults in my opinion should also be lowered. Clara Lara is for the kids and adults are there mainly for supervision so €16 is quite pricey. The only activity that me and partner really took part in was on the boats. The staff are all young people (summer jobs?) who are very regimental about rules (understandably to minimise the risk of accidents) but I found this approach to upset my kids and I had to intervene more than once when our kids had not been allowed to do an activity that they had just done when the staff member had been there for the 1st time they did it but wasnt looking!! It cost nearly €100 for entry for the 5 of us and I don't think that this would be an attraction that I would...

Clara Lara Fun Park is a true gem for families seeking an adventurous and nature-filled day out. Nestled in the heart of County Wicklow, surrounded by lush greenery, forests, and streams, it offers a unique blend of outdoor fun and scenic beauty. We had an absolutely brilliant day and would easily give it five stars.

The park is perfectly designed for a full day of activities, and it's easy to lose track of time as children (and adults!) explore the variety of things to do. From water slides and rowing boats to obstacle courses, mini-golf, go-karts, and tree swings, there’s something for every age group. One of the highlights for us was the zipline over the water – thrilling but safe – and the raft building, which brought out everyone’s inner adventurer.

What stands out most is how the park blends natural elements with fun in a way that feels wholesome and active. Kids can run freely, get wet and muddy, and just be kids. It’s not a place for screens – it’s about real, outdoor play. The location is stunning, and there are plenty of green picnic areas to relax and enjoy lunch.

A few tips: bring cash, as not all vendors take cards, and pack swimwear, towels, and a change of clothes. We were delighted to see that booking can now be done online, which makes planning much easier, especially during peak summer days.

Overall, Clara Lara is a fantastic family day out – exciting, energetic, and set in one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland. It’s perfect for school holidays, birthdays, or just a spontaneous sunny day. We left tired, happy, and already talking about our next visit. Highly...

We attempted to go to claralara on Sunday and gave up, massive que to get in rumour has it 3k long..but I suppose what did we expect on the weekend and being the hottest day of the year! We decided to return Monday instead, the only thing that lets the place down is not being able to pre book, as the whole of Ireland is staying in Ireland this year I can see this being abit of a disaster for some people who are travelling from other areas of the country over the summer hollidays they could possibly que for hours then be sent away at the gate and told to come back later and try,..when we returned Monday id never been so happy we didn't try and stick the que out on Sunday, we had a brilliant time the place is spotless, widely spread out, the staff are very friendly and helpful, there was only half a car park full of people all day we had the run of the place! Trying to get to these places on the weekends now is only asking for trouble I feel, as for Covid Restrictions, there is hand sanitiser in most places, out door sinks, signs to say social distance (just not big yellow ugly ones as we are a year an so in to this pandemic do we really need to be told what to do as adults?) And everything we used the staff them put in big buckets of sanitiser..It's an out door park so it's up to yourselfs to social distance.. ..I don't feel like some of the reviews are fair to the park, anywhere your willing to sit in ques for that long is bound to be packed inside....just don't go on a weekend day and you will not be...

Great place for kids to have good ol' fashioned fun. The place is clean and well maintained. Height restrictions apply to major attractions (min 1m20, max 1m50), but there is plenty of other stuff to do when you don't meet these requirements. Wooden cabins and BBQ (bring your own charcoal, lighter and starter blocks (no starter fluid allowed)) areas are available. Some may be reserved for school groups. Queues outside the gate start at 10am, gates open at 10:15. No cars are allowed to get on the site itself, but there is a good parking area just outside where the fun happens, so if you bring your gear, you don't need to walk far. There are toilet facilities and two (basic) places to buy ice cream and other simple refreshments. Note: their website could do with an upgrade. There is more info to be found here. Also, sorry to hear the disgruntled reviews of people having to wait and queue up. This park is open between 10:30 and 17:45. This park is meant for a full day out. Bring your own food and extra dry clothes for the kids as they get wet. Personally, I didn't experience long waiting queues and unfriendly staff.

We arrived at 10:15am and there was only 4 cars in front of us. They had 4 separate lines so no big wait. We set our area and the kids and I were off, 10 minutes max for the big water slide, it definitely was worth the wait. We brought our own food but got a few bits in the food shop, look carefully as to the left is drinks queue only and right is hot food. The food menu isn't bad but the double espresso wasn't great, don't waste your money. The kids were in and out the water all day long, along the ropes, beams, on the go karts, in the big play area and just before closing they got a boat ride. BTW, mine are 8 girl and 10 boy and absolutely loved minute of the day. Bear in mind this was a Friday so things were pretty calm and organised. The staff were friendly and helpful, kept everywhere clean and tidy and the (other) kids were kept in line if they got too rowdy in the water. We noticed a child went missing too and the staff were great to reunite her to her mum.

Clara Lara is the place to come for a day away from the world of screens. Children can play outdoors, run around, use their imagination, stretch their physical fitness and not notice time go by.  This is the perfect getaway for famlies from a bustling world.  Clara Lara is the ultimate escape to the wilderness. They have a picnic restaurant serving burgers, chips, sandwiches, ice cream, teas and coffee etc. and a small shop. There are extensive picnic areas and you are welcome to bring your own picnics. The park was opened by Peter Morphew in 1983, under the name "Clara-Lara Trout Farm and Funpark".It is located in the Vale of Clara; it takes its name from that and from the nearby village of Laragh.
