It's a beautiful forest with different easy walks. You can go either for a quick walk or spend a lot of time there. There is a path that is suitable for buggies and wheelchairs or you can take the nature trail walk, which is what we did. There is no climbing involved which makes this forest ideal for the unfit like me. Around this forest there are swings, climbing frames and seesaw horses scattered for the children to play, and even a little library box where you can bring a book that you don't want any longer or take one that you find interesting. There are also picknick tables and benches. I loved this place, which is ideal for children and we definitely go there again. The only drawback is that they want you to keep your dog on the lead, so no free run for them, which is an awful pity and that there is no...

Lovely area for a wander. Not large but has loads of paths that you can get lost on - and there is a map and trails showing the easy/paved walks and others a bit off the track. Seats/benches are along the paths aswell, and a couple of picnic benches. There are a few attractions for kids dotted around the place aswell - climbing frame, balance bridge. Lovely and green in the summer, and amazing colours in the autumn. Car park is small and there is no parking along the road. Car park is locked outside of opening hours so take note. Car park has a little library box where you can leave or take a book, and there is a little covered area with loads of info on the area. Dogs are allowed but must be...

Great place for forest walk. Normally not that busy (will depend a bit on what day of the week you go) and a nice trail even on a hot summer day. There are a few different routes and the longest will probably take around 1 hour. There is free parking available but it can be limited on a busy day. However, during our last visit we noticed that quite a few benches are missing now as well as at least one swing. Not sure if any of them are being replaced or whether it's just the way it's being "maintained" at the moment. Just for a walk the place is great but as of late there are fewer options to stop and sit...

I was playing at a wedding around at Ballymagarvey Village and, having spotted these woods on the Google Maps satellite view, arrived early so I could visit them. In the summer the car park is closed at 8pm (5pm in the winter), so I had a full hour to walk all the way around. The various routes through the woods are clearly signposted and allow visitors to choose the length of walk they want to do. There are a few playground fixtures dotted throughout, which it was fun to happen upon. There are masses of blackberry bushes, so visiting in the autumn would be particularly rewarding!
