What a beautiful place ! What can I say ?! Yesterday all our family had our annual Santa Visit and chose Clonfert due to its great prices and word of mouth from other families that have been . We were not disappointed ! The farm is a great day out , there is no limit in time spent there unlike other Santa visits and even if the weather isn’t great they have a beautiful cafe selling hot food , snacks , drinks . Their Christmas cupcakes are delicious and look amazing , a family can even get a large pizza for €10. Kids meals also available . They have outdoor heaters throughout the farm which really add to the cozy atmosphere , and a lovely shop which sells soft toys , candles , cards , Christmas decorations and gifts. . The kids especially LOVED making their reindeer food with the elves while having a hot chocolate , Santa looked like he just flew in from the North Pole , they even have a reindeer at the farm ! What was great also is the kids get to choose their Santa gift unlike other Santa visits , they also pick this out at the elves workshop , another great festive activities for the kids. I couldn’t get me nephew off the bouncy castle and all the kids loved the carousel which is included in your elli key . Lastly all staff could not be more friendly , the elves are great with the kids. Making the reindeer and Santa visit is not rushed at all , and the kids can spend ages at the playground and costing all the animals . We will definitely be visiting again throughout the year , especially for Easter and Halloween , and will be having my nieces party there in the Summer when the BBQ stations are open. .Well done to all the hard working staff, Christmas can be very stressful also when staff are so busy , none of this shows however , they deserve a great review for all their hard work . Thank you all to clonfert for making our family outing one of the best days out we’ve...
Read moreGreat place for kids. There are a load of different kids of animals and most are very easy to see. It's not as large as you'd expect for a place with a Zoo licence (or so I understand) so you'll get an hour or so out of the animals but there are tonnes of other things to do, including an indoor soft play area. The food is actually extremely good, significantly better than Dublin Zoo or any other similar farm we've been to that doesn't specialise in fancy food. Plus it's honestly quite reasonable. Entrance for a family of 3, kids meal, pizza and garlic cheese chips for the adults to share was €40, can't go wrong. We have been a couple of times with our son, he loves it. We normally go do a tour, play a bit and get done food, go to a goodbye tour of the main animals and he is extremely happy. You can rent party huts, bouncy castles and more it seems for parties. Honestly it's all very well set up. My only criticism, and I'm nit picking here, is that some of the enclosures seem to be small and not very stimulating for the animals (mainly the birds) but I'd say if the were larger they would hide and we couldn't see them so I'm not sure if it should be changed or not or how they would strike a good balance.
Regardless we love it and we'll be back again,...
Read morecould have been a fun day, but a guy (from their fun fair) was very rude saying I couldn't park in an area in the car park, there was no indication that wasn't allowed or was reserved. And there were other two cars already parked in the same area. When I asked why I couldn't park there, he answered very rude that I couldn't. I said there were other two cars and he said, very rude again, those cars were from people working in the fun fair, and I told him there was no signal saying that car park area was reserved.
And it wasn't a completely apart place, it was the last row of the car park, not a "strange" location or out of a car spot.
So, rude guy that ruined the experience.
edit to reply to the owner: First, I didn't say anything about when the fun fair arrived, it was when I arrived. Second, it happened some time ago, the fun fair was there working and I went to visit the Clonfert Farm, and someone from the fun fair came to talk to me as described above. I wrote the review when it happened, but the review hadn't been published somehow, some days ago I updated it and it got published. Focus on ensuring people working there are polite instead of trying to deny...
