Donadea Castle and forest park is just 6 or 7km off the M4, and a stone's throw from Dublin. There is ample parking, however be warned it's 5 euro to park and they only take coins.
The car park is basically beside the castle and cafe, and all the paths we found were buggy and wheelchair accessible. There are no paper maps available so snap a picture of the map at the entrance.
The castle itself is sealed off due to bring in poor repair, however it is still very impressive. There are a number of walks for all levels described on the sign. The nature walk is signposted and even has a giant red wood. There is a nice circular walk taking in the lake also.
The cafe is small but serves nice coffee and snacks. We had no cash and the lady wrote us an IOU!!! Very friendly and trusting - 10/10 and I'll be back to pay my debt! Great place to enjoy a morning...

Donadea Forest Park is one of those places that never disappoints. Whether you’re out for a peaceful walk, bringing the kids to explore, or just fancy a bit of fresh air, it’s always a fantastic day out.
There’s a beautiful lake right in the middle of the grounds, perfect for a stroll or just sitting and taking in the views. The trails are easy to follow and suit all ages, making it a great spot for families.
On a sunny day, there are few places nicer — plenty of space, lovely scenery, and a relaxed atmosphere. And if you’re feeling peckish, there’s even a handy café on site for a coffee or snack.
