Lovely day out for small kids. Mine are 3&5 and they enjoyed it. If you have kids who are sensitive to noise I recommend bringing ear defenders as the train is loud. My 2 kept the hands over the ears the whole time. They still liked it though. In the ticket office you can buy little prepacked picnic bags,€4 they had a capri sun, mid sized pk of haribo, snax and a few little chocolates. We didn't get any food at the cafe so I can't speak that but I had a coffee which was decent. If you're looking for something to do with the kids over the summer hols that won't break the bank then I recommend booking it. That being said I live within an hour of here so it's grand but I wouldn't make the trek if I was much further because there isn't really anything else to do except the train ride and a little wooden boat to play in.

Such a relaxing experience! The staff is super nice and helpful, it can be seen that they love what they do! The whole atmosphere helps you to forget about the everyday rush. The route is lovely and scenic, very relaxing! Excellent way to observe the local wildlife! The little lovely railway is very well maintained and the staff really knows what they are doing in terms of safety, operations and you know, just giving you a good time. Their cafe is top notch too! The selection is not very large, but what is there is delicious and fresh! You will surely find something for your taste. Try their toasted sandwiches, just saying... =D They are heavenly. All in all, a super experience! I can recommend them from the bottom of my heart! Thank you for providing quality service and quality time! <3

On the 26/05/22 me and friends went to the Waterford and Suir Valley Railway since we where on holiday in Waterford and I would just to say what a fantastic railway to ride on. The staff where very friendly and welcoming towards me and my friends since we are railway enthusiasts and the scenery is breathtaking when you ride the train back and forth from the cycle path. But hopefully in future it would be good of them to extend it or run to Waterford Greenway near to Deise Greenway Bilberry Car Park for the future. If you are a railway enthusiast or visiting as a tourist from other parts of the world I would recommend this place. Well done Waterford Suir Valley Railway you deserve top marks and a pat on the back from me and my friends.

Great for the family. Its a pleasant trip from the station (where they've now added a new cafe) down the track overlooking the river and the estuary with beautiful views. This time we went to the Christmas event. Lots of effort put in terms of photo opportunities (sleigh, Christmas elf figures, etc) and Mayfield Birds of Prey had birds at the entrance. On the journey we were greeted by Mrs. Claus and a snowman and reindeer before returning to the station where my kids met Santa. A great day overall (and also for "normal" days).

Highly recommend for all age groups. We don’t get to ride on a vintage train rail often. You could get the tickets at the counter as well, check their website for availability. It wasn’t crowded on Monday at this time of the year. Kids would love the experience and an overall enjoyable experience for adults too, lovely views of the River Suir and other spots on the greenway. I’d suggest to prepare a mini picnic to enjoy while you are on the train ride. Rail crew were friendly and welcoming.

Great place to go for a trip out with the kids. They loved it and so did my wife and myself. We went on the earlier trip at 11 o'clock and when we got back the platform was fairly crowded so go early for a more comfortable experience. Even though it was August once the train got out into the open alongside these estuary it got fairly nippy but on each open carriage there was warm blankets provided which were welcomed by all. Would recommend for a family half day out.
