We were actually on the way to Blackrock in Co Louth, but never managed to get there because of the bike race. This is how we ended at the Stephenstown pond. The pond itself isn't very big, so an ideal walk, if you're not the greatest walker around. The path is easy to walk on and perfect for wheelchairs. Plenty of benches around for resting among amazing trees and listening to hundreds of birds. The minders take great care of the wildlife in that park. Near the carpark is also well placed a playground, a coffee shop and toilets. You can sit inside or outside the coffee shop. The people who run it are really nice, people were all relaxed and happy. It all was a very pleasant experience. But you have to pay admission to get in: 2 Euro.

A beautiful place for a quite walk especially In the summer not very long but you can always walk around twice. Loads of wildlife Ducks, Moorhens(Coots), Swans and lot's of the insects you'd expect to see at a pond. Water boat men, pond skaters, Dragon flys, it has a small cafe for a bite to eat and plenty of picnic benches. The car park costs 2 euro on exit which is reasonable as it goes toward the upkeep of the walking paths. It's very easy to find just off the M1 motorway at the junction for dundalk South

Lovely family friendly space. There's a really nice loop around the pond with plenty of things to see. There's also a great playground area with plenty of things for kids from toddler age to enjoy. In the summer months theres also a lovely little coffee shop that offers food and drink. Really lovely place to kill a few hours on a weekend. Remember to bring €2 coins for parking!!

The 600m walk around the pond is quaint and provides some beautiful scenery to deal with.

The multiple picnic tables made me sorry I hadn't brought anything to sit and eat, surrounded by the nature scenes around me.

Loses a star because of the closed facilities which don't seem to open during the week. It took us about 15 minutes to walk around and take some pictures, but once the short walk is done, there's nothing else to do if the cafe is shut. Signs seemed to suggest they were open at weekends.

Don't have kids but the playground...

Very nice park for kids with a pond a little further. Kids can enjoy the park. Coffee shop is very nice, simple with affordable prices. They take cards. Great for warming up or getting some ice cream. Staff is absolutely lovely every time. Pond path is a bit damaged and parts have been isolated to avoid hazards but the walk is still very enjoyable and safe with supervision required. 2 euro car park charges. But the staff will give you a token if you're without change whether you had food or not. Overall a routine place to walk...
