Another interesting trip to yet another castle, we parked onsite, which wasn't ideal as some spaces are reserved for some business people but I wasn't paying for parking and paying for admission fee aswell, anyway we went into check out the inside, there was a few floors, some really old stuff in this castle, I am drawn to ancient and traditional stories and artefacts like in this location, we paid 10 euro for both adult and child, we were in the dungeon, on the roof and had a short game of chess, and read a few things of interest, there was work going presently and I suggested they do a guided tour in the future as we were left to our own devices, we were up touching things and sitting on bikes which wasn't allowed but that's what happens when you allow two enthusiastic guys go around a castle on their own. Anyway we had fun and took some nice photos. Nice castle, imagine this was someones house in the past.

They do not have an app for a self-guided tour and they do on occasion have guided tours - otherwise one is down to reading the posters on the walls to understand what the exhibition is about. You will discover the origin of the word "wallop" in the process and learn how the castle(s) that were built on this location changed hands since the 1100s (mostly by being destroyed first). There is an elevator so one does not HAVE to take the stairs to the higher floors.

Great festival a few weeks ago. I loved all the stalls and food vendors, and music was playing all day, and not to mention the weather was something out of this world it was like being in another country what a day. Being on next year's events

Free parking at nearby 1798 centre; where you can buy a ticket covering both visits, worth seeing both. Very friendly, helpful staff. Not much heritage/history as expected, but plenty of memorabilia relating to the family who lived there last century, toys, replicas recalling WWII from a UK perspective. A lot about Brooklyn being filmed there and a replica of a shop our grandparents would have used. Eileen Gray exhibition was a surprise to find in a former castle. Both ground floor & dungeon were closed off temporarily for storage of child-oriented things following the recent bank holiday. No access to turrets, but good views from the roof. Good to visit castle with children, they'll find...

A spectacular historical stop off for anybody visiting Co. Wexford. Enniscorthy Castle dates from around 1200 A.D. and has an incredible history having survived battles and turbulent times, including a visit by Cromwell's forces in 1649. The building which stands in the shadow of Vinegar Hill, is now a museum under the management of Wexford County Council and offers guided tours by day. Ghost hunts and paranormal investigations are also available a number of times per year. The staff are approachable , friendly and helpful. Definitely...
