A mile from glanworth.on road to fermoy.the capping stone is huge.14 tons .grave of old hag...leaba( bed) callae( hag..witch..). She was reputed to be a tall well built woman and as this was a gallery grave..when.o.pw.unearthed it.thats what they found..locals say she threw stone after her husband.and pinned him in riverbed.funsion.just underneath.bedrock.is in river underneath...where battle of manning ford wss fought.army was crossing bedrock wt.canons..ideal place for ambush..valley.700 english...100 irish..english.came fm.planters towns tallow.youghal.castlelyons.cappoquin.so hag...

An amazing wedge tomb, but very run down and not really looked after. The fence is rusting away and broken, the area around the tomb is all weeds and rubbish. It's an awful shame as this monument is over 4000 years old. I only wish the OPW or local councils would look after there more. Parking is right on the road so care is needed when getting out of the car. Not recommended for small children, more suited to someone...

It's wedged in between farmland, private property and the road obviously cut part of the site off. A travesty for a monument of its history and importance. A must stop for all...

An amazing wedge tomb, but very run down and not really looked after. The fence is rusting away and broken, the area around the tomb is all weeds and rubbish. It's an awful shame as this monument is over 4000 years old. I only wish the OPW or local councils would look after there more. Parking is right on the road so care is needed when getting out of the car. Not recommended for small children, more suited to someone out on a drive.

A very interesting tomb or maybe something else 🤔 this is a really cool monument of the past, parking isn't great but definitely worth the stop, there is even a very good farm honesty box with fresh eggs, a very good pit stop on the way to glanworth castle

A very interesting tomb or maybe something else 🤔 this is a really cool monument of the past, parking isn't great but definitely worth the stop, there is even a very good farm honesty box with fresh eggs, a very good pit stop on the way to glanworth castle
