Just back from a one night stay in this beautiful little haven . Peaceful and picturesque and very safe . Mary the host was so welcoming and friendly and had all the necessary precautions in place for the times we now find ourselves in with Covid 19. The place itself is off the beaten track and we had booked 3 huts so more or less had the place to ourselves. The kids were so happy with the tree swing ( city kids lol) and the use of the separate house with full kitchen, chill out zone and barbecue area was the icing on the cake . The smells of the garden with apple and pear trees amongst other is divine . If you want to find a calm peaceful retreat and escape the hustle and bustle of busy hotels and campsites this is the place for you . Cannot recommend it enough . Absolutely fabulous. Thanks so much Marys husband ( sorry I can’t remember your name ) for helping us dubs find the maze lol. Oh and waking to freshly baked bread waiting for us in the kitchen amongst all the other little treats was the icing on the cake . This really is a labour of love for the owners and it shows . Thanks again from...

A beautiful location to relax and just enjoy being. The shepard huts are comfy, warm and bright. We stayed in August and October so have experienced them in winter with no issues. The communal kitchen has everything you need to prepare you meals and the only ask is you clean up after yourself. There's also a BBQ outside by the garden steam/Rose garden for people to use. The communal kitchen also have a large stove if your cold and a massive range of books to enjoy on wild foods, mushrooms and botanics. There's a room above the kitchen full of couches to sit and enjoy a good read. The house is surrounded by acres of land being use to grow food, planting and an Oak wood with a trail through it. There's also a very large pond at the end of the garden with a canoe to enjoy a paddle and trip around the Island. I think it's a must do. Mary and her husband are bought very friendly and a joy to interact with. We'll definitely be back...

What a fantastic day out this was. We brought our friend here for a day out for her birthday as we are all nature loving people. Mary and Robert could not have been more welcoming. It is a gorgeous stroll around their beautiful woodlands learning about all of the different types of wild plants and flowers that are edible. They had fantastic little stops along the way to make and eat different things. It's a very easy walk around so nothing challenging at all, so great for all fitness levels. The lunch was gorgeous with beautiful homemade breads and accommodated our friends birthday cake etc with enthusiasm. I can't emphasise how much we enjoyed our day out and it's suitable for all ages (moreso 30+ though) rather than kids.

A magical place to stay, set against a backdrop of the wonderful Blackstairs mountains. Beautiful grounds to explore. Continental style breakfast is stunning. Sourdough and brown soda bread freshly baked each morning by Mary. Free range eggs. Cheese board. Fresh fruit. Yoghurt. Etc. Sit in the cosy communal eco barn and enjoy the views of trees, birds, gardens. Light the stove, have a glass of wine. As for the shepherds huts, they're toasty warm, amazingly comfy mattress with luxurious bed linen. Bring wellies to slip on at night for trips to the bathroom. Just down the road is Borris: a cute little heritage village with gorgeous architecture, a stunning viaduct (loop walk), and the fabulous Joyce's pub.

Beautiful shepherds huts, lovely gardens, friendly and welcoming hosts. Brilliant breakfast. I’m just back from my second trip here. This time we brought our two children and they loved it, we rented two huts. Mary and Robert are brilliant hosts, warm and welcoming. The centre is located in a beautiful part of Ireland that is perfect for walking or cycling too. Can’t wait to go back again.
