Stumbled upon this fantastic little museum formerly the Governor's house attached to the former prison complex in Nenagh. Free admission & would have happily paid for a visit here. Gerry, tour guide who greeted us was very welcoming & provided us a rich & compelling history of incrimination of the inmates & prison conditions along with an actual visit to the prison cells which left you with a real sense of local life experience & hardships of those times. The additional stories of certain prisoners who were wrongly convicted were also compelling. Wow,so glad we did,the tall man who greeted us knew his stuff and was so friendly and knowledgable. Very interesting history of the prison and buildings. Delivered in a child friendly way but that didn't take away from the amazing stories including those of the executed prisoners.
